Great Lakes Brewery

Independently owned by the Bulut family, we produce our beer as it was done hundreds of years ago by using an open fire, copper brew house built in Germany in the early 1900’s. Our small-batch brewing process allows us to carefully blend only the finest all natural ingredients to produce our award-winning beers. Our water, hops, malts and yeast are selected from local producers and those afar on the basis of but one criteria; quality. Celebrating over 20 years of brewing excellence, we are proud to offer a diverse selection of award-winning beers. Our first beer, Golden Horseshoe Premium Lager, was initially available only on draught in the Toronto area and beyond. As demand for our beer grew, we added more brands to our portfolio, and made them available on draught and in bottles. These include Red Leaf Smooth Red Lager, a well-balanced beer in the Vienna Lager style, and Black Jack Black Lager, a Bronze Medal winner at the 2006 World Beer Cup. In the summer of 2006, we launched Devil’s Pale Ale at the Toronto Festival of Beer. Originally intended to be a one-off beer, it generated an immediate following, with customers asking for it year-round. We listened, and in the summer of 2007, we re-released it as a full time beer on draught and in distinctive cans at the LCBO. Inspired by its success, we have since added a number of seasonal beers to our portfolio. During the spring, our light and refreshing Green Tea Ale is available. In the summer, we offer our unique and zesty Orange Peel Ale. Fall brings the arrival of our distinctive and spicy Pumpkin Ale. And we release our celebrated Winter Ale in November, available until the end of February.
