Karma Citra IPA (American Style IPA) is one of the most talked about India Pale Ales in Canada for good reason. There is a lot of flavour packed into the orange-bodied 6.6% award winning beer. Notes of lemon rind, tropical fruits, soft pine resin and a touch of honey bound from the glass in both the aroma and taste thanks to a generous amount of the famous Citra hop. Deliciously bitter medium body, yet nice and smooth with a dry resiny finish.

Pours an almost clean golden-amber colour with a big warm cap, great retention and thick creamy lace. Beautiful fresh citrus zest aromas showing some grapefruit, orange and grass. Hints of caramel and cereal malts in the background. This base is slightly stronger in the mouth, blended by the citra hops giving a sharp dry finish, but then leading into a fresh grassy mild aftertaste. Seems like Belgian yeast get things together. This is a great well-balanced IPA with fresh citrusy hops that goes down smoothly. Would definitely have again.

Pours a large amount of frothy white head and has a hazy golden amber appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas are quite citrusy and hoppy. Flavours are very citrusy, quite hoppy. Some fairly strong notes of grapefruit as well as yeasty notes. Pretty sweet in the finish as well bitter, balances quite well. Some sediments are visible. Tingling sensation. A bit tarty on the palate. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Pretty good and at just the right ibu's, not being overly hoppy bitter.

Straight forward tasty ipa. Pours well but head diminishes quickly. Citrus and grassy in the nose and flavour. Orange peel also present in the flavour along with a mild malt background. Dry bitter finish. Smaller portion would have been enough.

The beer pours a slightly hazed orange-gold colour with a short-lived head. Aroma is citrusy hops, and some weak grass notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is grapefruity hops, some light fruit and graininess rounds out the palate. Very well balanced. -

On tap many places, last at Imbibe KW - Has a citus aroma indicative of the hop, pours a hazed gols with a decent frothy white cap. Flavour is deep but not intense with cita hoop battling pale malt sweetness, long drying, bitter finish with a nice citrus bite at the end. A formitable challenger for Smash Bomb’s leadership in the citra-powered IPA genre.
