I've probably seen this beer at least 20 times and passed it up. I finally tried it and it's really nice. Pours a big head that fades after 2 minutes. Dark, Dark brown in color, almost black. Good aroma of burnt chocolate, coffee, an dark roasted malts. Medium bodied, not too sweet(surprising for me), nicely balanced dark burt chocolate taste with a touch of sourness. Coffee, mocha and carmel are there in the background. Very malty when it starts to warm up a bit. A good stout.

A- Approaching-black pour. Perfect mocha-colored head disappears with little lacing. S- light, sweet roasted coffee, milk and chocolate T- Chocolate, coffee, malt citrusy-sweet with a slight hop taste canceling much of the sweetness on the finish M - good carbonation and creamy mouth feel D- Not as heavy as the appearance might lead you to expect. Would make a great session stout Overall impression - Loved it and would recommend you try it if you aren't looking for a heavy, filling variety. Serving type: bottle (into pint glass)

A deep, dark tasty stout. Nice thick head when drawn, slightly carbonated with a nice coffee aroma. Flavor is toffee, coffee and vanilla - not too intense - very smooth and very smooth finish.

Had this as part of my beer of the month club. Beer pours a black color with a small tan head. Feeling was very creamy and the flavor was ok. I've had many stouts better than this.

An unusual brew, pours dark with minimal head. Flavor is light chocolate toasty malt. Mouth feel is different due to lactose inclusion in the brewing formula. The lactose gives a fullness to the brew that might be otherwise missing.

Poured black with a tan head...beautiful brew with roasted malt flavors...chocolate...coffee...not too bitter. A very good brew...will definitely have again. Had this at Racer's Pub in Parkville, MD.

Poured a deep dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Mouthfeel was smooth, creamy and medium-heavy. Taste was chocolate (perhaps slightly burnt?), mocha, coffee. Sweet but not too much, very nicely balanced. A great beer.

Tastes like burnt chocolate, with a sweet almost chocolate milk like flavor to balance the slightly bitter burnt quality. Doesn't smell like very much at all. Pours a deep brown (I really like my stouts to be almost black) with little head (but it was rather cold). Slight presence of alcohol. Slightly sticky, cloying aftertaste. A forgettable beer. Not worried about ever coming across this again.

The pitch black color and the thick, creamy head was like that of a picture in an advertisement-very inviting looking. The aroma had hints of roasted caramel, coffee and chocolate. The taste, very smooth, matched the scents. This was a very enjoyable beer and one I would recommend trying.
