Very solid IPA from Dogfish Head. Nice piney, citrus aroma and a good lasting head. Good lacing all the way down. Great taste of strong piney citrus hops up front and a nice malt back bone. Very well balanced. I really like this beer for $7.49 a six pack. I think I'll get a case next time. Good stuff!

I haven't had this beer in about 7 years. Clear brown/orange color. Bready, toffee, carmel, honey aroma. Thick tight head of about two fingers which fades. Very malty, sweet, bready taste with fruity under tones. Slight hop kick with warming alcohol at the finish. I was on an American craft brew kick. This was the first Euro-brew I've had in about a year. Great beer.

I've probably seen this beer at least 20 times and passed it up. I finally tried it and it's really nice. Pours a big head that fades after 2 minutes. Dark, Dark brown in color, almost black. Good aroma of burnt chocolate, coffee, an dark roasted malts. Medium bodied, not too sweet(surprising for me), nicely balanced dark burt chocolate taste with a touch of sourness. Coffee, mocha and carmel are there in the background. Very malty when it starts to warm up a bit. A good stout.

This imperial stout was not the greatest in my opinion. A little watered down and too thin for the style. That being said, it is very drinkable. It's not a bad beer, there are just many other imperial stouts that are way better,IMO. Aroma is pretty good. Coffee, molasses, Carmel, Chocolate are there. Jet-black appearance, good head that disappears to a little ring. Flavor is like the aroma, but a little flat and undemanding. I ended up mixing this with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and it was very nice after that. Give it a try.

2008 version. I give this an 8/10 overall just because it is such an interesting beer. Aroma of sherry, dried fruits, and strong malts. Appearance is redish brown. Nice head that calms down. The flavor is very malty with wood flavors and wine-like portish characteristics. Almost a fruity tart taste at first. I can feel the alcohol after a few sips. But at the same time pretty drinkable. Very different Barley Wine than the typical American ones. It's growing on me. I tried to age this, but only got 3 months into it. Ha Ha! Nice one, you have to try it once or twice;>
