Mother's Milk, as the name implies,is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course, milk make Mother's Milk remarkably smooth and silky finish a classic example of the style.

Pours opaque dark chocolate brown with a decent light tan head. Aroma delivers tempting molasses, chocolate, roast malt and dark fruit notes. Flavor starts with roast malt and then adds dark fruit, chocolate and molasses tones. Mouthfeel features thin body and OK fizz. Milk it!

I had this beer in NYC - I recall it being ... meh. It doesn't stand out to me as outstanding. I had a LOT of beer while in NYC and this beer didn't leave an impression. It's in my notes. I'll have to revisit it just to put up a better review.

So these guys from Keegan DO know how to brew!! Hot damn! After their awful showing with Hurricane Kitty, it left an awful taste in my mouth in more than one way. But this was a total 180. An aroma of consisting of mainly chocolate and coffee, but after having that Hurricane Kitty crap this stuff tasted like Darkness!! Appearance was black with a creamy off-white head. A smooth, mellow mouthfeel with just the right thickness. Flavor was roasted malts/coffee, a bit of chocolte and finishes with a nice bitterness. Good stuff.

A great example of a milk stout. Very rich and creamy. Sweet enough to ballance the roasted flavors. It is really not much like Guinness other than color. Guinness is a dry fairly light bodied stout, whereas MM is much richer and had substantially more body.

rich, somewhat sweet taste. nicely roasted. Reallyliked this one. I would say it is in the wrong category- this should be under "sweet stouts", although it is not too sweet. Just sweet enough to balance out the bitterness. real good balance. very smooth and not too heavy. everything is just right here.

a nice rich and complex stout. pours a great black color and has a nice earthy head. flavor as said above it similar to Guinness, but i like this one a little better as it is smoother to drink

This is truly a great stout. It pours black with a healthy tan head the aroma is of a richly toasted malt. As it warms you will begin to smell chocolate. The mouth feel is just about perfect. It has enough carbonation to enhance the flavor and give a lightness to the beer. The flavor is superb. the malty flavors of the stout come through without the bitterness or full feeling. I paired this with a rich pork stew, One of my better combos. I would reccomend this brew highly If you like Guinness you will enjoy this.

Keegan's Mother's Milk is very much like Guiness. The aroma, coloring and flavor are very similar. I'm not a huge Guiness fan, but if you are you should give this one a try.
