Aroma is crisp with a fruity underpinning, a bit sweet, typical but still acceptable. It pours a typical clear amber with a white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Flavor is malty and crisp with a hint of pear and a bitter hoppy touch, not memorable but still enjoyable. Texture is fairly smooth and nicely fizzy. Overall, an average beer, but still worthy. This one is good for a party or with dinner.

More like a decent lager or summer ale versus an APA. Overall, the beer is about average....for the style partially below. Cloudy dark yellow to light orange appearance. Flavor lacking hops....sort of refreshing but forgettable. Just started getting into Flying Fish because of the price, but this one is something I will pass on. So far I like their Abbey Dubbel the best.

another average offering - nothing bad. nothing stands out. a little cereal malt, a little sweet, and a bit of floral and bittering hops, but not very aromatic.

A golden colored beer with lots of bubbles rising in the bright color. A big creamy textured white head rises above. It has good hang time. Settles eventually into splotches of soapy film aside the glass and thin soapy ringlet atop the body. Smells and tastes of light grassy hops and subtle sweet malt presence. Light bodied. Low carbonation. A drinkable beer just doesn’t scream as an APA.

Beer pours deep urine yellow, clear, very little head or lacing. Weak aroma of metallic spoiled fruit. The flavor was just bad...sweet pilsner like malts with a rotten fruit flavor underneath. Carbonated, but still had an oil-like slickness that kept the foul flavor on my tongue longer. Just not very good at all.

Huh. Hazy amber, not much head (draught). Aroma is old, fruit (peach, pear), and sugar. Thick palate. Touch of citrus on the finish, nice Fuggles. Overall, not too impressive, but okay.

I had Flying Fish Extra Pale Ale at the Flying Fish Brewery. It poured a light golden colored body with a decent white head. The taste was light, too light for my taste. It was a good session beer, but I prefer their other offerings as this one didn't have much besides light hops and citrus to offer.

Very nice summer beer. Pour cloudy golden color with small head, didn't leave much lacing on the glass either. Had a nice refreshing taste to it with wasn't over run with hop flavor. Had a nice light refreshing mouthfeel to it. Very well done flying fish.

Light gold color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and fruity. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are sweet and fruity. Dry hopped and grapefruity. Very nice. Well balanced. Sweet and fruity with a nice bitter middle. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Re-rate, Oct 07: Corny and cheap tasting, no real hop presence, contrary to my novice earlier rating. Snore fest here. Original rating: I liked this light and somewhat hoppy beer. Poured a golden cloudy color with minimal head and lacing. Aroma was simple and average, but the flavor was crisp and clean with a pleasant touch of hops. Mouthfeel was nicely carbonated and light. Either hops are growing on me, or Flying Fish did something unique here. A nice summertime beer.
