Hop to it! What a brilliant combo of hops and deliciousness. First I would love begin this review by commenting on the radiating appearance that this beer contains in the sunlight:orange, red bronze, with subtle hues of blues green. In normal "bar" light it holds a partly cloudy orange red color. The sip tastes of oranges and hops, a fruity citrus sort with a mellow swallow, yet possessing an invigorating fore-texture on initial contact to the tongue. Overall I rate this beer at the perfect 8. It has provided and accompanied me throughout many jolly good sessions With my peers and fellow beer and life enthusiasts. Cheers!

My friend bought goodies for me. For some people this might mean chocolate, for others it might mean donuts, but for my friend it was a selection of three six packs in the vegetable drawer of her fridge, all mixed up like a candy selection at halloween. The three were leine's sunset wheat, blue moon belgian, and hopalicious. This pale ale has a strongy nuggetty hops flavor that is full, piney and yet refreshing. Its bitterness lingers lightly on the tongue without killing it like some of the sierra nevadas. Nice lacing in the glass. Nice transition of flavors as it got warmer. And my friend was right. Good beer if you have friend with far reaching taste.

Firm APA with an onslaught of Cascade hop goodness. Great dark copper pour with a long lasting big ol' white head and thick lacing. Nice bitterness and fairly clean. Citrus and pine are right in line with the style. A touch of biscuits and caramel to round out the profile.

It smells like you had a handful of hops shoved in your face, I love it! It's a very pale beer and has a frothy and lacy white head. It's extremely light bodied with a citrus and pine taste and a good sharp bite at the end. This beer is really just the right balance of hops and extremely easy to drink.

Have had this beer many times and recently went to the Ale Asylum and enjoyed a fresh glass. Fantastic hop aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Fantastic amber colored pour with a nice white foamy head, the smell of the hops hits you with the pour. Very smooth and refreshing, a wonderful beer! I love the Ale Asylum!

This hop nectar is courtesy of Phishpond. Pours a slight hazy amber with a medium white head that leaves some tight lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of sweet and powerful grapefruit and citrus hops with a very slight sweet malt behind that. Taste is upfront and righteous with those citrus hops and very clean with a slight sweet maltiness to counter the bitterness - an excellent beer. Thank you Travis.

My friend Todd supplied me with this one and we had a "hop-off" between the Hopalicious and New Glarus' Hop Hearty Ale in his back yard one night. It was the hoppy battle for the Madison, WI area.

Hopalicious has a nice golden color to it and a medium sized white head, leaving behind a moderate amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma is a little less than I would have expected by the name, as it only had a somewhat light floral and citrus aroma to it. Nothing too earth shattering.

This beer is nicely crafted and drinks fairly well. It is smooth drinking and leaves your mouth wet and wanting more. The flavor is definitely driven by the hops with a mix of sweet citrus mixed in there.

Now my friends swear that this beer used to be more hoppy than the beverage that we drank. Considering the beer was fairly fresh, one would have to think that with the hops shortage the brewers of this beer might have changed the hops used in the recipe or cut back on how much hops were used. Either way it wasn't too bad though. I just don't consider this one a great pale ale.

Needless to say the New Glarus Hop Hearty Ale beat the Ale Asylum Hopalicious in our little Madison "hop-off".

This one poured a slightly cloudy golden color with a nice head. It had a pleasent pine aroma with a nice malt profile in the flavor backed with plenty of hops. It was slightly sweet on the finish.

Oh, man this is a wonderful brew. The hazy, gold body suspends a foamy, lace-producing white head. The aroma is actually quite mild, with the subtle presence of citrusy hops. The mouthfeel is great - crisp, but at the same time smooth and full; medium bodied. Flavors are of just the right balance: good malt structure with bold but not agressive hopping. The finish is long, smooth, clean, and just slightly bitter - enticing and satisfying

Tasted on tap This APA pours a light orange gold color. Small head. Aroma is floral hops and kind of sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy, Nice balance. I first though this was an IPA and commented that “its more of an APA than an IPA” guess I was right and wrong eh? Good carbonation. This sample is a very fresh tasting beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
