  • Great Divide Wild Raspberry Ale
    rated 3.6 16 years ago

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

I acquired my latest bottle of Great Divide Wild Raspberry Ale from Canal's in Burlington. It was as good as I remembered but coming from a non fruit beer person that doesn't equal high marks. The taste and aroma were both raspberry and bready. Which is better than some juicy beers. I do disagree that this is a lambic. Not even close to a lambic.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

I acquired this bottle from Canal's in Burlington, NJ. I decided to try this one for the sake of review despite not being a fan of fruit beers. It had a very pleasant aroma and taste. Very notably raspberry but not juicy like other poorly made fruit beers. This one was a decent fruit beer. wheaty with a hint of raspberry. Decent- probably excellent if you like fruit beers!

  • Abita Pecan Harvest Ale
    rated 3.5 17 years ago

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

I acquired this from Chip's wine shop in Nags Head, NC. I decided to try this brew despite being disappointed with other Abita products. I figured Pecan was something a little different, why not try it. The taste reminded me of a toasted lager but not as good as say blue point's. It was malty and nutty - but I had a hard time deciding that they were pecan's due to the maltiness. Worth trying , but I'll pass on this one next time.

  • Southampton Pumpkin Ale

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

I acquired this bottle from Canal's in Burlington, NJ. It poured a orangish hue with a decent head. The aroma was very inviting reminding me of pumpkin pie. The taste was good too - the typical pumpkin spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. This was a good pumpkin ale - and is worth a try.

  • Southampton Trappist-style Triple Ale
    rated 3.6 17 years ago

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

I acquired this bottle from Canal's in Burlington, NJ. I was very excited to finally try Southampton's tripel, but I have to admit I was left disappointed. Mind you, this beer was still decent but lack some to make it stand out against other superior tripels. The color look was nice, but the taste was missing something. Overall - not a repeat beer for me.
