I acquired this bottle from Canal's in Burlington, NJ. I decided to try this one for the sake of review despite not being a fan of fruit beers. It had a very pleasant aroma and taste. Very notably raspberry but not juicy like other poorly made fruit beers. This one was a decent fruit beer. wheaty with a hint of raspberry. Decent- probably excellent if you like fruit beers!

it had a nice redish brown pour, with a very small white head that disappeared quickly. The aroma was more hoppy then raspberries which was a surprise. The raspberry taste was not over powering so for those who aren't in to fruit beers try this one. My only slight complaint was the beer was a little over carbonated.

Not my favorite style but like Everest it was there to explore. A pale yellow colored beer. A fairly big, frothy textured, white head rises above. Not much hang time though. It does settle into a light lacing. Some film. Yje raspberry is quite evident in the nose. The body is light, highly carbonated and crisp. In the tasting is wheat and raspberry. You would, I guess like this if you’re into fruit beers.

Bottle: Poured a super pale yellow color ale with a small pure white foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of fake raspberry juice with weak malt notes. Taste is also dominated by fake raspberry juice with no traces of actual raspberries and weak boring malt backbone. Body is quite thin with OK carbonation. Wow – even worse then expected from a usually fine brewery.

Second beer that I have had from Southern Tier, and I really enjoyed their IPA. I like raspberry wheat brews so lets see what this one has to offer. Not much actually. Flat as an Ethiopian guy's chest, small white head, not much lacing, not much retention, hardly hazy and plain yellow colour. Smelt good raspberry from the bottle, but once poured, the fruit seems to go into space. Nowhere to be found (might I add). Mild malt is all I smell now. Watery mouthfeel, and hardly any fruit in the taste as well. Maybe a little tart and lemon zest in the aftertaste. Refreshing maybe, just like water is, on a hot summer day. I guess I am disappointed in this one. Was expecting so much more. Will have to wait for the next ST the LCBO imports.

12 oz bottle: Pours a lightly hazed gold ale in the wheat glass. Smallish white cap with modest lacing. Aromas are promising biscuity, straw and ample berry perfumes, dominate the nose. Fairly light on the palate, biscuity wheat malts light hop herbalness but the unmalted wheat and berry tartness gang up to dry up the drink in the finish. Nice dry refreshing drink for a summer patio but seeing how there is no berry color in the brew I suspect essence was used instead of raw fruit and the whole formula dashed together for a quick summer seasonal. Not bad but certainly not ST’s best effort.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a light yellow straw color with a white fluffy head. Its head fades out quickly and leaves little to no lace on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a raspberry syrup scent with light wheat notes. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has a thin grainy malt taste with a heavy raspberry flavor that tastes like it was sweetened with artificial sweetener. The body is light with a fuzzy mouth feel and fizzy carbonation. Notes: This was just a little off balance for me. The body didn't support the sweetness very well. However it is light and effervescent making it good for hot summer days.

Southern Tier seems to be gaining some inroads into the Ontario market. This beer poured a golden colour with a white head. The aroma was raspberries, but you could get a whiff of the wheat malt as well. The flavour was as described, a wheat beer with raspberries, and a small amount of hops. Refreshing.

Single bottle, good choice as this beer doesn't suit my fancy. Sparkling light yellow-gold pour with a small white head, lazy carbonation, and spotty lacing. Faint pale malt aroma with some noticeable raspberry, fruity and grassy. Light bodied and fizzy with a crisp, empty finish. An awkward bitter-sweet fruitiness hits the palate. Dry taste with some grassy wheat. Complimenting raspberry flavoring, comes off a touch syrupy. This beer would work better if there was a deeper malt body. Raspberries are a nice fruit to add to beer, but it helps if there is a rich malt flavor to back it up. This one just doesn't seem to work.

Bottle from beastiefan2k, pour was pale golden yellow, little soda pop type looking head, lacing fairly weak - looked like a wheat based blonde ale. Aroma was strong raspberries, light wheat twang. The flavor followed the aroma, a bit too strong of raspberry going on for me, like puree was mixed into the brew (no, not raspberry flavoring or syrup, no that bad!) in many ways. Slight tart notes in the otherwise carbonated finish. I probably would have appreciated this much more in the summer, but this brew could have been better regardless of season with less raspberry presence.
