Pours a honey golden amber with a little head. Aroma is nothing but basic and overall pleasant non the less. Taste is a tad above average, light hops and slight dryness. Finishes off ever slightly dry and metallic. Overall not bad.

an average amber ale that has a decent malt profile with a little dirt/biscuitiness to it, and some bitter but not overly aromatic or flavorful hops. ok i guess.

A light amber/copper color with some burnt orange highlights around the bottom. Hazy. A white, soapy head with not much size and only average retention and lacing. A rather robust malt tone that brought forth some caramel and some wheat bread. Some sweet, sugary notes similar to a baked pear or baked apple. Some of the earthy, "peat" aromas I'm not real fond of however. Maybe a bit of toffee in there too. The taste is a bit more mild and not as robust, but much better balanced than the smell. Again, some caramel malt with the earthy tone. Some of the sugary notes blend in well. Small tinge of bitterness, but not overbearing. Medium mouthfeel. Rather smooth and dry. Leaves touches on the palate. This beer is ok. Not my favorite, but easily drinkable regardless. That "peat" aroma and flavor gets to me after a bit, but I could still down a couple with relative ease. If you see it, pick it up, but don't go out of your way.

Rating from 2002. Wonder how I missed entering this one. Lt copper color, small head. Malted rye and roasted malts, some spiciness. There is slight hop bitterness as well, but malt sweetness prevails. Finish is clean and crisp, Aftertaste is sweet, no bitterness

Dark orange color with only a little bit of antique white head. Toasted malt, peachy fruit aroma. Hazy liquid. Not all that exciting, but certainly drinkable.

This was a rather interesting beer. Reminded me of a lighter version of Lagunitas Censored Ale versus many of the "ambers" out there....or similar to some Scottish Ales. This was actually more of a darker cloudy brown/copper color that looked pretty much like apple cider. Flavors were mostly caramel malts but had some citrusy flavors similar a pale ale or IPA. Not as bitter as those, but had a decent hop tone at the end. Nothing really special here, but is a decent beer either way.

Overall this beer is rather boring. Pours a copper or amber color with a thin off-white head. Malty sweetness with light bitter citrus hops following but not a whole lot to it. Not bad, drinkable, but also an easy one to forget.

From a bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a white head. Aroma is malty and unremarkable. Flavor of caramel with a slight bitterness to it. An average beer. Not the best Boulder puts out.
