    Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Pours an opaque dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet with heavy caramel and chocolate notes. Flavor is also sweet with a coffee undertones. Very slight alcohol burn at the end mingling with the hop. Nice bitter aftertaste. Another great beer from the Smokestack Series.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy light red/orange with a thick off-white head. aroma is malty and light. Flavor is unimpressive for a "double" red. Sweet with a slight hopiness at the end. Overall, I was disappointed by this one. Wasn't nearly as big you would think it would be.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is floral and hoppy. Flavor is fantastic. Citrusy and well balanced. Excellent bitterness at the finish. A great beer.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

From a growler. Pours a clear yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is light and malty. Flavor is mellow and smooth. Slight hop bitterness at the end. An ok beer, and as suggested by the brewery, would be a good warm weather session beer.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

From a bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and almost like a lager. Clove is present. Flavor is disappointing. With the name Grand Cru, I was expecting a lot more. Don't get me wrong, it's not horrible, but nothing spectacular. Sweet with a spicy undertone. Metallic, unpleasentness is present as well. An ok beer, but not what I'd call a Grand Cru.
