Disclaimer: I brew and drink this everyday...I feel I can review this beer because I did not formulate it. I do work with David Peirce who did. This beer has wonderful head retention and mouthfeel. A hoppy pale pressing the verge of IPA with the generous ammount of hops used, but also has a nice big malty body to balance things out. I drink this everyday. The quintessential session beer for me. I could only compare this to Bells 2 hearted but slightly less sweet with more of a ghany hoppiness.

Pours clear Amber with a nice buff head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is not strong, but crisp and malty. Flavor is considerably bolder, malty with hoppy and subtle fruity notes, quite enjoyable. Mouthfeel has average body and fizz, but finish is delightfully hoppy and not at all bitter. Worth a fair shake!

pours a deep gold/light amber with a slight haze with some floaties and a decent medium sized head with good staying power. The aroma is mostly a citrus hop aroma with some piney notes as well. Quite strong overall with a little light caramell in the background. The taste has the malt come through more than the aroma would suggest. Grainy with a solid caramel component as well. The hops play only a flavor role the first couple sips, but with each sip the bitterness compounds to further check the afforementioned malt sweetness. The beer maintains a fair hop balance through the semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium body with solid carbonation.

I am thinking this is more of an ESB than a pale but maybe that's splitting hairs. Aroma is malty with tea leaves and hops. Big body for a pale. Malty, nutty and resinous on the tongue. Taste is decent though not top shelf.

I'm assuming I had a bad bottle. This beer was insanely carbonated. I poured it into the glass and immediately started to overflow. Taste was so carbonated that it felt like a vibrator in my mouth. Yikes.. that sounded bad. I don't even know what that would feel like. Bright yellow, kind of sour, hoppy as hell, wierd ass beer.

One of the better offerings from the people at Bluegrass. If anything, this isn't as American an APA as it could be. Not enough hops. A golden red pour with a medium sized light tan head. Caramel malt, spice, and citrus make up the bulk of the aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between the caramel sweetness and the citrus bitter....just not hoppy enough!

I must preface this review by saying that I received an out of date brew. I feel it is necessary to review the beer in the condition which I obtained it. An orangish/amber/copper color with some yellow highlights around the bottoms and sides. It's hazy with an off white colored head that was kind of small and didn't leave much lacing or have much retetnion. The color is nice though. The smell revealed some apple and some sourness. I think I may have a bottle that is a bit old. No real citrus to speak of. It smells dank and stale. With the first sip this beer revealed that it was old. It was completely rank!!!! The mouthfeel seems medium and dry. I couldn't really tell because I was too distracted. I couldn't drink it. A drain pour. I would love to find a fresh bottle and try to review this again sometime in the future.

Purchased at Trader Joe in Nashville on my trip there. Wow... huge off-white head, very long-lasting and creating patchy lacing all over. Pretty hoppy nose with some other fruits (apples, grapefruits, oranges). Colour is golden-amber with lots of carbonation. Very bitter start to the flavours with the hop being right in your face and then going through clementines. The hoppy bitterness stays the whole way through and into the long lasting aftertaste. I would have to say, this is a powerful American Pale Ale, well-balancing the bitter hop and the sweet fruits.

Poured into pint glass, 2-finger off-white head, persistent lacing. Hazy orange-amber color. Nose is fairly low-key, dominated by citrusy hops. Feels a bit thin for the style. Flavor has a tang, hops are out front, nicely balanced by the malt. I find I like this beer much more now than I did the first time I tried it a few years ago, and the deeper I get into the sixer, the better it gets... I'll have to drink it more often!

Served up with a nice copper color with a thin fleeting head. Very malty flavor and aroma. Mouthfeel a little watery and hopping rate could be a bit higher. Overall though a decent beer worth a try.

Pours a dark, murky copper with small, lasting head. Aroma is a little light by style, featuring herbal hops. The flavor has a decent malt character, slightly outweighed by bitter-citrus and floral hops. Medium bodied with very mild carbonation, smooth with a hint of warming affect.
