This hearty, chocolaty, dark brew is made with an intriguing amount of Blackstrap molasses added to the kettle.

Bottle: Poured a dark color porter with a small foamy dark head with average retention. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee is rally enjoyable and really easily detectable. Taste has got a really creamy texture with the mix of roasted malt and coffee being well balance. I really did dig this porter because even though it is not extreme in any way it is very well balance.

Poured a dark brown to black color with a nice thick tan head and great retention, very nice head, great lacing. Looking good. The aroma was coffee, a little chocolate. The flavor was coffee, chocolate, astringent sugars, nothing special here, although not bad. The mouthfeel was carbonated.

Beautiful pour, dark brown nice head. Aroma was nice...sweet roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor, though, was somewhat disappointingly thin and overcarbonated. Bitter coffee, chocolate and roasted malt...typical porter with a large lactic acid flavor. Thin mouthfeel. Not memorable.

Yet another Weyerbacher Brewing product to sample and review thanks to captainskoal and Mingo51, thanks guys! The aroma is very intriguing and nice with hefty amounts of chocolate aromas as well as some slight java or coffee accents and is very roasty with maybe some slight brown sugar coming through. The appearance is a very dark and rick black but a very deep burgundy in color when held to the light with a very nice head on top that is robust and full and a light-brown to tan in color and discipates slightly leaving very nice coatings of lace on the glass that is tan in color. The mouthfeel is very full and robust and very nice with very nice roasted complexity as well as balance with a palate that is smooth and velvety and extremely round. The flavor is very roasty and nutty with nice chocolate malt profiles with some nice creamed coffee accents with an aftertaste that is smooth and rich as well as robust and round with a finish that is creamy and velvety smooth and extremely tasty. Overall, this is a well made brew with no alcohol detectable with wonderful creamy accents and very smooth and extremely easy to drink; this might, quite possibly, be my new favorite session porter...to bad Weyerbacher doesn't distribute to Georgia yet, maybe one day; just maybe.

Pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet yet bitter, roasty and nutty with a slight caramel note. Medium bodied, smooth and slighlty dry.

This beer poured a black color with some amber shining through when held to light, the head was rocky and a light brown color that left good lace the whole way down the glass. The mouthfeel was fairly full bodied, rich. The flavor on this one that stands out the most is roasted malts, a nice mocha flavor, and a nice dry, bitter aftertaste

22 oz bottle. Eclipse black color. Large sized beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and dark fruit. A medium to full bodied porter. Malts are fruity and sweet, chocolate and coffee. There is a touch of roastyness and bitterness. Nice smooth tasting porter. Easy drinking. No trace of the 7% alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
