Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders' robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It’s a lover, not a fighter.

355ml bottle into glass. Nose is chocolate, cocoa and dry coffee. Black beer with thin tan-coloured head. Effervescent and full-bodied. Taste and finish have lots of coffee and milk chocolate. Excellent porter, a llttle too much coffee for my tastes.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours black with a tan head. Roasty aroma with coffee, dark fruits, dark chocolate and a hint of smoke? Sweet and roasty with a light bitterness in the finish. Smooth and desserty with a medium to full body. Delicious beer!(2013-02-16)

Medium sized head, lasting, nice lace. Black color. Lovely nose, chocolate, roast, coffee, earth. Body is medium, silky and slick on the palate, soft carbo, hint tang, hint chalk. Lotsa roast and chocolate along with caramel and coffee, black patent notes, lovely. Dry, roast finish, hint of dark fruits, sleek and classy. 12oz bottle from statelineliquors. Yummy stuff right there!

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours dark darkness with cool looking cottage cheese brown head. The aroma is full roastiness with highly roasted malts, some chocolate malts, and a dash of burnt malts to go along with molasses. It seems very stout like. The tastes starts with a quick sweet pulse of malts that then turns roasty to burnt with hints of sweet molasses filling in the cracks. It ends with a bit of drying malt astringency. Very bold notes for the label stated style but very tasty.

Dark brown pour with foamy tan head that quickly disappears. Chocolate, roasted malt and coffee aromas. The roasted malt and chocolate lead on the tongue with a hint of coffee. Velvety mouthfeel. I'm a big porter fan and this one is quite good.

Deep dark mahogany pour, nearly black, with a medium tan head. Fair amount of lace. Chocolate and toffee taste with a creamy finish. This is an outstanding beer!

Got a single from their 6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a real black colour with a good creamy beige head, long retention and some creamy lace. Coffee nose at first, but the dark fruits come out eventually with the mild yeast. The taste is smooth with the coffee/dark fruit combo. Nice roasted malts linger into the aftertaste. Hint of chocolate are faint with a nice bitterness blending with everything. A nice soft porter with lots of character that are well-blended.
