sampled 10/16/09. 550ml bottle with Mitch. pours a dark brown color with reddish highlights, no head at all. aroma is fruity, oaky, some chocolate. taste is fruity, oaky, tart, tannins. i like the tartness here, not overpowering the rest of the beer. i'd love to revisit this with a little age on it. body is medium. mouthfeel is bit oily. lingering tart aftertaste.

Sampled 6/2/12. 12oz bottle with Rael and Nathan at Mission Liquors. 2008 edition. pours an inky black color, medium/thin tan head. aroma is heaven. i could come back to this glass and just smell the aroma all night. roasty, chocolate, oak, bourbon aromas. taste is roasty, chocolate, coffee, oak, vanilla and bourbon. smooooth. body is full. no alcohol hotness. aftertaste is a touch sweet.

sampled 5/29/12. 12oz bottle. pours a clear golden orange colour, medium head. aroma is yeast, spicy, fruity. taste is spicy, citrus, light hops. body is medium.

sampled 9/25/09. 22oz bottle with Mitch. pours an inky black color, medium head. aroma is roasty, coffee, chocolate. taste is coffee, chocolate. as it warms some earthy/oak, dark fruit. nice impy stout. body is medium/full. finish is a little bitter.

sampled 10/23/09. 500ml bottle with Mitch. pours a hazy deep golden/yellow color, medium head. aroma is fruity, floral. taste is sweet, fruity, peaches. balanced. missing the belgian esters here. body is medium/full. aftertaste is somewhat sweet.
