Amber colour, small white head. Aroma of malts and plum, but still quite bitterish. Flavour is metallic, malts and plum. Some spices also there, but the metallicness is ruining the flavour.

Comes in a 4-pack with a best before date written on the cap, OCT2010. Pours a crazy off-white foamy head that has pretty good retention and leaves also foamy lacing. Colour is dark raspberry red with vivid carbonation. No sourness in the nose, just strong alcohol and some grain malt. Maybe some light cherries, but still not pleasant enough. Lots of red apples, like MacIntosh, in the taste with slight burn in the finish. Some raisins in aroma and flavours. An average brew, but will try back in a few years, as I have two more to cellar. For now, to strong for nothing.

One of my favourite styles of beer, this one has some tough competition. I drink this with other great examples in mind, the bar is certainly set high.
Very assuring pour. Nice head which would desist into a fine lacing as it warmed. Cloudy brown. Aroma pairs up pretty well with the style, but not as 'authentic' I didn't think. Stronger as it warmed, that's a good thing. Took a little longer to get a feel for, not as distinct or confident as others in this unique style. Mouthfeel is a little too carbonated for a Flemish sour. Nowhere near as complex or wine-like as others. No alcohol , flavours not as pronouced. Flavours disapear quickly, don't stick around. They don't seem to stand out as they should with what this style permits. I liked this beer, but there is so much more to this style. -

Reddish brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of malt with a background of what I can only describe as Cherry Garcia ice cream. Flavor is malt with a tartness that recedes as the beer warms. Definately a beer worth trying.

This a good strong ale.A rich red brown colour with some yeasty sediment in the bottom.Sweet taste with fruity note: black cherry .Over all i could detect a bit too much the alcool content 8% alc vol but nonetheless a good belgian beer.

Clear dark brown with a slim head. Very nice aroma; malt, dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar and more. Taste is not a let down; similar elements. Full bodied, great mouthfeel, well hid alcohol apart from some late warming. Excellent.

330ml bottle: the pour put a ruby high lighted cloudy chestnut ale in my tulip..1 finger rocky tan cap does not last long goes to a surface lace that stays. Aroma is nice like a sour cider with cocoa undertones. Peppery mouth feel from carbonation but once this breaks away you get a rush of flavors..pear cider with chocolate some treacle and toast...marvelous drawn finish that turns syrupy with a rush of sweet licorice and then some warming. Nice brown...a pleasant surprise

Poured a brownish red color with a thin, light tan head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, sherry, cherry, wood, and honey. Sweet honey is big in the taste, as well as oak, some caramel, and strong alcohol. Rather thin, I suspect this has been rather well aged.

Very rich and dark ale. Large head when pourred into glass but disapear quite quickly. Has a very nice roasty butterscotch/molasse finish. Another nice product from Riva

Very interesting. Orange brown in color. Spicey flavors. Ginger like. Maybe even get a taste of wasabi. Probably could go well with asian food. Malty. Hoppy finish. Pretty good. Enjoyable.
