Samuel Adams Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending togther four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble Hops. Samuel Adams Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Another fine seasonal brew from the Boston Beer Company, Samuel Adams' Oktoberfest is a typical "Autumn" beer: dark amber in color with good malt flavoring and aroma. There is nothing outstanding about this brew, but it is a good, drinkable brew with a well-balanced body nonetheless. I'd be interested in buying it year-round as a flavor alternative to the cheaper beers I find myself buying in the summers for cookouts and such.

Had a couple of these last October in the Scottsdale area (can't recall exactly where). Clear copper pour, white head. Spicy nose, with pumpkin, maybe. Medium bodied, trending to the thin side. Too sweet, need to back off on the caramel. Not even a suggestion of bitterness. Just average. Funny thing in that the seriously young server said "it was so good". As if he'd know. Probably too young to drink.

decent amber/coperish color off white head not a lot of lacing as head dissappated quickly. fair malt smell . good dry maltiness that sticks to mouth and tongue.

Pours out a dark clear gold color with a thick tan head that vanishes pretty quick. The aroma is faint mostly of malt and spice. The mouthfeel is solid but not thick. The taste is clean and I like it but it's not real special.

Tried this on a recent shopping trip to Pennsylvania. Nice amber colour, and highly drinkable beer. Price was right, too. Definitely a session beer, but enjoyed nonetheless.

Copper golden color with white foam head lacing to glass. Aroma is roasted malt. Taste is bittersweet with caramel tones, but not too much sweet. Shorter bittersweet aftertaste. (Cleveland 201210)

Tasty !! I like this one. To bad it is a sesonal. I like some of SA beer-I think they make way to many. Like 6 excellent for a solid baseline. Anyway, rich copper color, a little bicuit, caramel, some grain but OK A good down to earth Festbier.

Pours a copper amber with a quickly dissipating tan head. The aroma is toffee and ripe fruit. The taste matches the aroma and consists of sweet malt, citrusy hops, with a bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with just the right amount of carbonation.

This ended up being a drainpour. Three outstanding beers on the weekend and then this. The high point was the color, after that it was all downhill. The aroma wasn't as complex as the better German Oktoberfests and that was reflected in the flavor as well. Sweet and grainy, but no German earthiness.

Found this beauty at the LCBO in a 6-pack. Pours a clean amber-copper colour with a light beige head that is smaller than expected, but stays a while and creates a bit of lacing. Nice grainy and darker malt aromas. Matly taste with hints of oranges and a nutty finish. Good decent grain (rye) long lasting in the aftertaste. This is a pretty nice refreshing Oktoberfest brew from a big brewery I like.

There are some beers that perfectly encapsulate a time and a place. In the same way that the Mammoth 395 tastes like a summer evening at home, this OctoberFest tastes like the New York Throughway in the autumn. The beer didn't really knock me out with its flavor, but the visual effect was profound. the whole time I was drinking it, I kept thinking of those drives through CT, MA, and NY with my parents when I was little. I don't know what else to say; it tastes like the orange leaves of an oak tree in Connecticut.
