Prost! Oktoberfest is one of the most celebrated traditions in German culture. And though Kansas may be a long way from Munich, we share the sentiment. Our Octoberfest was only the second specialty beer we ever brewed, and the original batch was first tasted back in 1989. To this day, it continues to be one of our most popular brews, with folks seeking it out both at the brewpub and on the shelves of their local liquor stores. Flavor Profile Clear with a light amber color and smooth, yet complex, malt character balanced with a touch of sweetness and floral hop aroma. This jewel is from Pfoxyjohn by way of Dansting. Last one of the tasting; saving the best for last! Beautiful copper colored pour with a tight tall white head, plenty of lazy lacing. Rich bready caramel malts upfront, inviting, then a welcoming hops presence to slightly bitter the sweet to form a near-perfect Oktoberfest tasting experience. Best non-German bottled Oktoberfest I've tasted in a long long time. I could drink copious amounts of these babies. Huge thanks for Dan and John for this beauty. Excellent.

A classic example of an octoberfest style beer, sent to me as an add on to a strange beer request from Dansting (again, big time thanks). Aroma has the hallmark example of an octoberfest - caramel, toasty, some light herbal/grassy hop angle. Lightly malted with a touch of caramel sweetness, clean flavors with a nice earthy bitter finish. No flaws noticeable in any way, and the closest I can think of a great "fest" beer like this was Kostritzer, which IMO is great company to be in. Very well done. -

Sampled from bottle, thanks to Dansting! Pours dark copper with a creamy light tan head. Wonderful toasted bread aroma with hints of caramel. Balanced with a nutty, bready malt profile. Some pleasant bitterness in the finish and a hint of smoke. Medium-bodied and easy to drink.

Pours a true brown with perfect clarity and small, creamy head. The aroma boasts sweet grainy notes and a doughy yeast character. Rich, malty flavor--truly delicious, the perfect kind of beer to ease the way from hop heavy summer beers to winter warmers. A real gap bridger. Welcome fall. Medium bodied and pretty smooth. I could drink another one right now. Thank you Dan.

Growler from the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a nice white head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet and malty, with a strong caramel presence. Flavor is a nice blend of sweet malt and hops. A solid offering in the Oktoberfest style. No wonder this is considered by many to be the best of the style in the country.

From a growler (thanks Timmy) Poured a clear copper and had just a thin head to it with tiny little bubbles. Nice malt combo that had a sweet wort like flavor to it. It was hopped just right, not to much, just enough to say "hello, welcome to oktoberfest". Another very nice beer from a great little brewery in KS.

From the tap and from a growler. Pours a clear copper with a white head that doesn't last long. Nice lacing while it's there though. Aroma is sweet and light. Flavor is malty up front with a great bitterness at the finish. A really good oktoberfest. No wonder it sells out so fast.
