Beau's All Natural Night Märzen Oktoberfest Lager

280 ml from the 750 ml capped bottle at the ICBF, Dublin 09/14, as a 5,5 % ABV. Poured in a session glass a clear amber-orange coloured Märzen with half a finger beige foamy head that had a short retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is grainy light toasted malts, fruity tones, bready, caramel and woody notes. The flavour is a solid malty backbone, biscuits, red fruits notes, cherries. The mouthfeel is crispy and clean. The texture is watery. This light to medium bodied Märzen has a dry malty and light bitter finish. I expected more ( substance ) from this Märzen brewed with " the " Canuck touch in Ontario.

Poured a relatively thick bubbly slightly off-white dark amber/orange colour. Good lacing. Nice balance of hops and malts in aroma, with notes of caramel and grains. Has some citric variations for flavour (tropical, sour, orangey, etc...) Medium roasted malts, some yeast is noticeable. Has a yeasty mouthfeel as well, mild palate, a bit tangy. Very good.

Purchased a single bottle of this 2012 edition, at the LCBO. Pours a clean amber colour with a foamy off-white head, decent retention and fluffy lacing. Hardly any carbonation. Not as malty as expected for a märzen. More on the hop side. The taste confirms this, but the malt is more present here in the flavours. Bread grains, mild caramel and the hop creating a nice dry bitterness in the finish. So, hoppier than most Okterberfest I have tried, but this makes this one interesting. And let's not forget "local" and "organic".

Bottle: Pours a hazed golden-orange with a decent off-white cap. Aroma is bready with a bit too much caramel for proper Marzen. Noble hop woodiness is a prevailing note, a bit of mustiness. Medium bodied - could be a bit more substantial. Flavor follows aroma - bready-caramel with a decent whack of Perle bittering and Hersbrucker woodiness, finish goes dry with a decent noble hop bite at the end, a very good Marzen but they need to bulk up the body and lose the cara-malts.

A bottle brought from a friend who visited the brewery. A beautiful golden red pour with a generous white head. The German styling comes through in both the flavor and the aroma with the a nice touch of sweetness on the tongue. Extremely well done.

My favourite Beau's beer so far. A nicely balanced Oktoberfest that represents all that is good in the style. A clear coppedr coloured beer with a thin tight whitish head. Sweet malt comes through, some apricot, and hops. Nicely balanced brew with the fruity malt sweetness rounding into a nice bitter finish. I would love to see this as a regular bottled option.

The beer poured a beautiful translucent cherry red, with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light fruit, caramel, and weak floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was a perfect balance between the malty sweetness and the hoppy bitterness. Easy to drink!
