Samuel Adams Boston Ale

Pours out a dark gold color with a nice lasting tan head. The aroma is of malt and hay. The mouthfeel is average and it's smooth. The taste is of malt with just a note of hops.

pours a clear amber/red with a short off white head with poor retention but a few spots of lacing managed to cling to the side of the glass. The aroma is fairly light earthy and floral qualities with a hint of citrus. Malt aromas aren't popping out too much. The taste is light apple, slight citrus and floral hops. The malt is a little too thin but it has a nice hop profile. Aftertaste is earthy and "smooth". The mouthfeel is medium body with medium carbonation. A nice drinkable beer.

Just as Boston Lager is an amber lager, Boston Ale is an amber ale. There are remarkable similarities in the colour, aroma, and flavour of the two with the ale being the more hoppier of the two.

Pours a nice clear slightly coppery amber with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent white head. Aroma is malty and just a little bit fruity with a whisper of sweet. Malty and slightly fruity flavor has a hoppy and bitter undertone. Texture is smooth and just a little fizzy.

About as colonial-American patriotic beer can get. Samuel Adams is pretty good. You can't go wrong ordering a Sam Adams. It's cheap, American, and way better than any other cheap American beer.

Pretty malty nose with q touch of spice and some carmel sweetness. Pours a palish copper body that is crystal clear with a large off-white head that leaves excellent lace. Mouth is medium to full with minimal but ok carbonation. Flavor would be great except for a metallic aftertaste. tons of malt and biscuit in the mouth, a little sweet honey/brown sugar and a small hops bite in mid taste. I think its the hops though, that are leaving a slightly grassy chemical aftertaste. Its upsetting becuase I really like the flavor profile up to that point.

I thought this beer was pretty good; however, at the end of the day, it didn't taste much different that the Boston Lager. The only real difference is the fermentation process (i.e. top v. bottom). In the end, I like the Boston Lager a bit better - crisper and hoppier than the ale

Suprised to see that I haven’t rated this one yet. Not sure how I missed this one. Bought a SA sampler pack and found 2 bottles in it, so here it goes. The body is clear with a amber body, 1" off-white head. Aroma is caramel and a light grassy/citrus note. Mostly caramel malts on the palate, a touch of citrus and bread.

I liked this better than their Boston Lager. Maybe a little more red in color. A little more malt in the flavor....also a little more hoppy perhaps. Just all around more flavor. It also seemed like a smoother beer to me. A better than average brew. I was happy to try this in their variety pack. Would buy again....especially if offered in an airport or something where choices are limited.

Dark copper pour with a nice off-white head. Smell of malts and hops with the flavor of hops and sweet burnt sugar. Nice lacing on the glass. This beer goes down very smooth and is very drinkable.
