Comes out of tap bubbly caramel brown with a thick buff head. Malty aroma has a note of cinnamon and a hint of hops. Crisp, malty flavor echoes the cinnamon of the aroma and the hoppy hint. Texture is so-so, but it goes down well. A good way to welcome winter and the new solar year.

Have not had a Blue Point yet that I did not care for. This is no exception. About average for a winter ale, nothing really stands out...but a decent representation. Appearance a little on the darker side for the style...still a medium brown though with a creamy off-white head. Good balance...caramel malt in the beginning, followed by some spice, with a slight bitter-hop finish. About comparable to Sammy's Winter Lager. Tried a single first....good beer, but not sure I like enough to buy a 6-pack.

A dark, deep amber colored beer with a big frothy off white head rising robustly above. Great hang time. Settles eventually into a thick film aside the glass and medium ringlet. A faint nose of caramel. a full bodied beer with rich citrus fruit, smokey caramel, and spices.

An interesting beer that was dark amber in color. It had a faint smell of spices. Had a nice taste of spices on the palate that did not overwhelm the caramel flavor. An easy drinking holiday beer that is worth seeking out again.

Amber pour with nice head and excellent lacing. Weak aroma of soapy caramel. Flavor was rich, malty caramel with touch of nutty notes and full, rich body. Really pretty good. Nice hoppy twang at the back end. A pretty good amber ale.

Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber with rich white head. Soapy caramel aroma. Clean caramel flavour, notes of oranges and grass. Caramel and cedarwood in the short finish

Dark ruby red colour, small white head. Fresh fruity, very refreshing aroma. Strong hoppy, quite dryish flavour. Also some barley or similar is present. Strong hoppy aftertaste.

Blue Point Winter Ale is a light amber colored body with a small head. It kind of misses on the winter ale theme, but I digress. The taste was hoppy with a slight alcohol presence. OVerall this isn't too bad, but at the same time I'd pass on it unless I was in a bar in Long Island.

I didnt think of this as an amber ale, but i guess winter ale is not a category...nonetheless Good beer and fitting for the season. Dark in color with some heft to it. Sweet malt like dried fruits. finishes fairly clean with rich hops still clinging. Nice hop aroma........ Some spicy flavors with a backbone of pine- think deep woods spruce. A had this on draught for some time and after a awhile the pine was a little much. I had a bottle yesterday and it was much better than i remember it. Good value, pick up a jug.
