330 ml gusher bottle, as Urthel Vlaemse Bock, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 7.5%. Cloudy dark brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. Malty and slightly sickly sweetish aroma, notes of molasses, oak and dark dried fruits. Rich malty flavour, sweet but not extreme, notes of caramel, molasses and brown kandij sugar. Minimal hops.

Poured an amber with good head. Aroma was doughy and as butterscotch as eaglefan said. Flavor was doughy as well with the butterscotch and dark fruits. Not a favorite of mine

Dark amber pour, little head or lacing. Weird butterscotch "off" flavor. Flavor was dark fruits but the odd butterscotchy off flavor was distracting and unpleasant.

Poured an amber color, nice generous head, ok lacing. The aroma was butterscotch, light vinegar, malty dough. The flavor was dark fruits, light chocolate, some grass, doughy notes, butterscotch, not as much vinegar as the aroma (almost a flemish twist to the flavor profile). The mouthfeel was a little acidic, highly carbonated.

NorCal tasting Jan 07 - What an outstanding beer. This has all the excellent qualities that I love about beer. The aroma was dark malts, dark cherries, fruity, raisiny and inviting. It just begs you to drink it. The appearance reminded me of a deep cherrywood color, with a nice off-white head. A lively mouthfeel, perfectly conditioned. The flavor had a perfect balance of grassy hops, cherries, raisins and dark malts. Excellent.

This bock pours a deep mahogany color from a cork finish 750ml bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with strong lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, moderately sweet, some spices, some yeast and some banana. A medium bodied bock. Malts are semi-sweet and somewhat fruit estery. Some earthy and wood qualities as well. Lively carbonation. Taste is more like a weizenbock perhaps. Nice sipping beer. There is a touch of alcohol bite. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with an alcohol bite.

Clear brown with an ample head. There’s a lot of wood in the aroma. It seems a bit overcarbonated and a little astringent.

Pours with a red-brown body topped by a thick, quickly disappearing head with little lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a slight dark fruit note, a little caramel, and a touch of tin. Full bodied, tingly on the tongue and slightly warming.
