Pours a clear amber with a decent white head - about average, but acceptable. Aroma is strong and mainly fruity, with a malty undertone and a hint of caramel. Malty flavor has a firm fruity component, mainly pear and banana, with a touch of caramel and quite an alcohol nip, as well as a whisper of honey sweetness. Texture is slickly smooth with just a little tingle, and leaves an edgy finish.

Pours a bright, golden orange with active carbonation feeding the huge, pillow white head which leaves spots of lacing down the side. the aroma is delicious caramel malts, a touch of hops. The taste is sweet caramel and a bit of toffee, with some nice fruitiness. The mouthfeel is somewhat thick with active carbonation.

A golden amber colored beer with a big fuffy textured, white head rising above. Pretty good hang time on this one. Settles eventually in thick lumps of fluff and splotches of thick film. Nice nose of pepper, sweet malt and light floral hops. The tasting is sweet malt on first sip. The spiciness follows, so nicely. A light-medium bodied beer. Well crafted.

This poured an orange color with a moderate white head. The aroma contains lemons, biscuits, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is malty with some lemons, spices, and some alcohol showing through. Overall this was a very good beer.

Aroma is floral and zesty, heavy on the malts, with corn and grainy notes. Appearance is golden-orange and pours with a quick fading fizzy head. A lot of bubbles surfacing but hardly any head at all remaining on top. Flavors are sweet and malty with apricot and peachy fruits, caramel, and a little zip in the finish. After just a few sips this became too sweet and sticky, almost to the point of being unpleasant and hard to drink. I love Smutty but I wasn't a fan of this one.

Solid beer here. Poured a nice golden color with a huge head good lacing. Aroma was grassy and honey. Flavor was a perfect blend of grassy hops and sweet malts. Refreshing beer well done.

Bottle courtesy of Sammy: Poured a cloudy deep beige/orangey color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet malt is dominant. Taste is a mix between some dry malt with some light sweetness and some light nutty notes. Body is full with some limited filtration with great carbonation. There was a dryness in this beer that I didn’t particularly enjoyed but otherwise it was a fine example of the style.

Golden orange color, smallish head and ok lacing. Sweet bready musty malt aroma. Flavor was of sweet bread…really sweet. Some hops were present. Ok…a little too sweet and syrupy to be refreshing and enjoyable.

Pours a golden color with some amber hues, nice frothy generous head, great lacing. The aroma was honey, earthen and grassy hops, rich bready malts. The flavor was excellent bready malts, light honey, some grass, a nice spiciness along with carbonated zing. The malts had a grapey-ness to go along with the bready richness, and this was a very fine example of the style, top notch. Mouthfeel was full, rich, yet balanced, very clean feeling. At-a-boys, Smutty!!!

650mL Bottle 5/03, 04.23.04. Pours an orangey gold, clouded, minimal head, tons of lacing. Aromas are fascinatingly unusual - heaps of malt, caramel, milk, a pile of pulled weeds, and salt air? Flavors...Wow!...all kinds of sweet, sweet malted layers: milky sweetness, some malted milk candy, potato. There is a touch of bitterness in the finish, then (and this is unusual to me) there is a second finish that is not bitter, but earth, applesauce, butter. This beer is ridiculously good, much better than I expected. The texture, like the flavor, is creamy and sugary (not cloying) at first, but finishes lighter and a bit dry. My only complaint is that the finish may be too dry, but I'm not too familiar with the style.
