Heavy carbonation calls for a gentle pour. The body is a dark wood stain and the aroma and flavor both have that touch of sourness that all Jolly Pumpkin beers have. Nuts and woods come from the dark malt.

This beer was surprisingly viscous at the pour, but didn't come across as overly thick or cloying in the mouthfeel. This is a surprisingly malty lager. Lots of spice from the rye, some slight astringency. A very light roast backs up the rest. Pretty tasty beer.

There was a distinct hop note emanating from the bottle when I uncapped it, but this is actually a fairly unhoppy beer by Stone standards dried fruits and nuts come from the malt and yeast and there's a faint chocolate in the finish.

A very dark cola brown with a light khaki head. Heavy carbonation. Perhaps a little too much. Fairly dry chocolate, a little anise note in the back. I The mouthfeel remains a little foamy even when the head recedes because of the high carbonation.

This is a very nice IPA. Nice citrusy hops on the nose. A very rich (by IPA standards) maltiness backs up the assertive, but not harsh, bitterness. Pretty tasty. Carries its weight well.
