Not sure of the color, tasted it from the bottle and it was very good with a smooth sweet flavor yielding to a mellower malty aftertaste. I only bought a six pack of these but I think there are worth stocking up on.

First time trying this. Some folks from Arkansas brought it camping. Had whole bunch of variety packs. Wanted to try a few, but after this one samples.....didn't need to bother. Not the typical malty European marzen. Average at best....drinkable though.

Pours copper color with a medium sized head and a good amount of lacing. Smell of caramel and spices. Flavor is somewhat sweet like caramel with some malt and grain followed by a little bitterness. A pretty good balanced beer.

Much better than their pale ale, plenty of sweet caramel malts mixed in with some grassy hops. Beautiful amber/copper body with a frothy white head and thick lacing. Light to medium bodied with a clean sweet finish. One more festbier for this year...

Very good Octoberfest, even if it was sampled in March... just can't pass up an Octoberfest when its on the menu. Dark copper with a medium head that laces forever and a day. Malty sweetness coupled with a nice proportion of hops. Clean finish. Very nice Octoberfest. Prost!

Clear amber/copper color with a decent off white head that had a fair amount of retention and lacing. The head had some very large bubbles. Some orange/yellow highlights aorund the sides of the glass. Some earthy malts of a toasted variety. Smells like dried leaves. Also got a macadamian nut cookie type of smell. Pretty nice. A nice little taste of toasted bread or grain. A bit of a toasted wheat bread and toasted biscuit. An earthy malt with a small hint of hops. Decent. Medium mouthfeel. Smooth and crisp. Didn't blanket the palate extremely well, but that's ok. Average all around on the mouthfell. It is pretty dry though, which I like. This is a decent brew. Worth a try. Falls in line nicely with the Fall/Oktoberfest season. Pretty easily drinkable and would pair well with a cool evening.

Pale copper coler, light head and lacing. Sweet malt nose. Taste is sweet and very slightly spicy, with a clean finish. A rather good Oktoberfest/marzen that I'll certainly drink again before the season's over.

Pours an amber color with a nice creamy head. There is lacing throughout and the mouthfeel is a medium body, nice carbonation and some nice spice flavor. Another good offering from the people of Schlafly.

Bottle courtesy of theisti. Pour was standard for the style, lacing and head only mediocre, though. The aroma was toasted caramel and light saazy grass. The flavor was pretty dry, overall somewhat light, featuring saaz-grass type hops and light toasted caramel. Carbonation was ample. Thanks, Tim!

Pours a pale copper color with a two finger head that fades slowly to a soapy cap that leaves plenty of lacing. Smell; nice clean smell of bread and caramel malts with just hints of hops. This is about what i would expect for an Octoberfest. Taste; starts of a bit spicy and floral, but that quickly fades into the bready/caramel malt flavors. I really liked the spiciness that this started with but it didn't stick around long enough for me, and the malts were a little to muted as well. Mouthfeel was pretty much standard for the style, light to medium bodied.
