Lends itself towards a macro with a little more malt flavor. Still has that stale average taste with some hop bitterness up front and at the finish. still better than mass produced brews though.

Saranac Traditional Lager...can you say 'macro'. Good I thought you could. This beer poured a golden colored body. It tasted like a macro lager. Sort of bland and made for the masses. Not bad...but not for me.

From the winter beer sampler. Medium golden body with a small white head. The aroma is light raw potato with some grassy tobacco. The taste is potato skins with some carrots and a fairly spicy black pepper finish. However, as you drink, you begin to get a sweet heather like note. Weird finish. This would be decent as a session brew.

watered down taste, maybe because i just drank the Saranac black and tan. light in color with a light tan head. Didnt have a beer taste to me. wouldnt turn this beer away but wouldnt buy a 6 pack of it either. Saranac has much better beers.

Golden color, perils racing up to make a small white head, head fades fast with no lace. Aroma is a bit grain-ish, mild grass and a light hint of malt. Taste is watery up from then a bitter stint, and a sweet middle and an ever so light bitter finish. Better than most (all) macro’s.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color lager with a nice medium foamy head with pretty good retention. Aroma of floral malt and crisp hops is easily detectable and clearly enjoyable. Taste is refreshing with the floral malt and crisp hops being the main attraction here. Nice to get a adjunct-free lager once in a while.

This beer poured a pale gold color with a small white head that left little lace. Aroma was lightly hoppy with some malt also noticable. Mouthfeel was thin. Flavor was a little watery but did have a decent malt hop balance.

This was one of the better Saranac brews but it was still nothing really special. It was right down the line pretty average fare but still enjoyable.

this is one of the cleaner american lagers ive had. light flavors with no skunky aftertastes. not bad. There is something artificial here though-- Opposite of traditional. I dont even mind some familiar american skunkiness if it reminds me of beer.... Starts woody and corn-sweet, finishes dry and not over-extended like some lagers. Good body and crisp mouthfeel. "Is there alcohol in here"??
This seems cheaper to me now that its packaged in a clear bottle with a twist off. Tastes cheaper too..But the right idea for saranac on marketing this as such. It could catch on.
