A full-bodied English-style Porter, this brew has a substantial roasted malt character. Brewed with traditional English Ale hops and sweetened with Scottish heather honey. The honey balances the spiciness from the hops and the roasted malt character. The beer is finished by dry hopping with English Goldings.

Part of their Winter Classics pack purchased in Vegas. Pours a clean deep cooper colour with a beige head, average retention and nice lacing. Roasted malt aromas with a decent amount of hops. Hints of molasses. The taste is pretty much the roasted malts with hops, creating a nice dryness. Apple notes lingering. Not your spicy holiday porter, but a hoppy dark brew. NOTE: Oops, was rating on an iPad and clicked this one for the Holiday Porter (so redo this one if I get the Honey Porter one).

Deep dark muddy brown color with minimal light brown head. Buttery chocolate taste with a hint of honey. The appearance of this beer is outstanding however the mouth feel wasn't quite as substantial.

Bottled. Deep brownish amber colour, with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is burnt malts, honey and dry wood. Flavour is burnt malts, sugar, syrup, wet sweet wood and grass. Also some slight honeyish sweet notes.

For a Porter, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of this brew. I t wasnt to sweet but the finish was very smooth and light. I found it in a Holiday pack that I cant wait for again. Most Porters are heavy but this was just right. The malts, in my view were the perfect compliment to this style. Another hit from the the BBC.

355 ml, from Systembolaget, Sweden, thanks to OleR. ABV is 5.45%. Very dark brown colour, big and lasting beige head. Fairly moderate but pleasant aroma of heather honey, also notes of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, fruity hops and mild coffee. The flavour is not as sweet as I feared, but the heather honey has a distinct presence throughout, nicely balanced by the hops. There is also a moderate roastiness, again with moderate notes of caramel, chocolate and mild coffee. Unlike the brewers I would not call this a "robust" porter, but it is certainly a good one all the same.

I bought this as part of a holiday sampler pack and was glad to have tried this beer. Pours a dark brown. A nice tan colored head with decent lacing on my glass. Honey flavor and roasted coffee/malts/chocolate flavor. Very enjoyable!

I'm just a fan of porters, so naturally I like this beer. I disagree with the reviewer above who didn't notice the honey. I actually fully taste the honey in the flavor, along with some other sweets from the malts. Aroma has hints of honey as well. The apperance is dark brown with a medium body. Not too heavy, a good dinner beer. I would buy it again, especially if on sale again for $6.99 a six.

Pours out dark brown with a small tannish head, aroma is of roasted malts and a touch of honey. Tastes like a typical porter, the honey taste was barely noticeable for me though.

this one poured out a nice dark ruby red almost brown, with a decent full head that lasted the entire glass worth, which also left above average lacing. This one was very strong and smokey upon first drink, but after it settled down the aroma and flavor were terrific. This had a very distinctive honey aroma, and the honey added to the spicy, yet sweet flavor. Drink after drink this porter was better. I recommend this beer to anyone wanting to try a decent Sam Adams porter.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz. bottle. The freshness date is June 2009. The pour is a dark brown with ruby highlights. A finger's worth of white head holds nicely for a few minutes and leaves decent lacing. The nose is dominated by sweet malts with some chocolate and just a hint of honey. The taste again allows the malts first, then the honey peeks out but never becomes dominating. There is a tiny bit of burntness near the slightly dry finish. The mouthfeel is on the thin side of medium with a nice amount of carbonation. Drinkability is decent; the dry finish keeps me wanting more. All in all, it's a good start for someone who wants to try a porter.
