A few years back, some friends and family formed our own 'confederation' to enjoy making some delicious ales. In your hand is our first born Amber Ale. With a gentle malty sweeetness, and a perfectly balanced finish, it has that immeasurable ingredient....soul!

The back label has a similar feature to the Coors bottles with a silver icon that turns blue when cold.

The beer pours a translucent golden-red with a small thin tan head. The aroma is very grainy, and some earthiness. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, with ample carbonation. The flavour is more grainy malt with some sourness at the end. Only slightly better than the Confederation Ale.

6-pack from The Beer Store. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a little head that vanishes fast enough, leaving a nice creamy lace and top to the brew. Peach-apricot aromas with notes of fresh hop. Crisp mouthfeel that is refreshing with the beautiful hop coming out in the finish. The rest is malty with a touch of caramel. I was quite surprised by this one, with the nice hop used in it. One of the better amber beers from Ontario.

Bottle: Clear dark gold with a puffy 1 finger cap that does not stay too long. Aroma: grainy, some sweetness, peaches and grass...very light. Flavor light bready malts some fruit esters and a fast clean finish withg light sweetness. A lawnmower ale much like a cram ale, mellow, mild quenching but a tad thin.

An amber ale from the Robert Simpson people, how quaint. Having said that - it was shit! It poured red with a thin head. The aroma was skunky grainy malt. The flavour was even worse, almost had a sour taste. This did not go down well at all. I recommend that standard Simpson offering over this one!
