For a pale ale, this one was simply average by every metric. I think that if you are going to get an IPA-like beer from this brewery, save your money and get their Hop-a-lot-amus ... an absolutely FANTASTIC beer. Hop Hazard, not so hot.

Decent, but not exceptional pale ale. Pours a cloudy orange with thin, off-white head. Aroma of some citrus and piney hops with a little sweetness. Taste is similarly average--nothing makes this beer stand out compared to others of the same style.

Funny, for as small as NJ is, combined with the fact that I lived there for 25 years, nevertheless, I have no idea where Lambertville is. Pours a pretty cloudy orange with minimal head. I nice hoppy twinge, but I guess I was expecting more. Some orange/citrus flavors, but nothing terribly strong or solidly present. A tepid, "three-alarm" pale ale.

An amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet alcoholic and rather hoppy, while the flavor is sweet alcoholic, combinede with light notes of metal, and the hops only makes their presence known from a dry end.

Received in a trade, although honestly I don't recall who sent it to me. This reminded me in many ways of the first homebrew I made. The beer poured out a HUGE billowing head. I mean it took me a few minutes to pour because the head was so eruptive. Plus, it took forever for it to dissipate. The aroma was lacking any sort of assertive hop profile I'd expect to find in a beer named "Hop Hazard" but zippo. What was left was some semblance of sweet malts and a touch cheesy. Color is a hazy light-brown/orange with said enormous head. Just not a very good beer. SNPA would blow this outta the water unfortunately.

It was nearly impossible to drink this beer because of its intense carbonation. It was so carbonated it nearly exploded upon opening. The colour was a hazey orange with an indescribable white monster head. Not overly hoppy, but wicked fruity, and very lively mouthfeel. great, well hopped-but balanced.

I sampled this courtesy of my neighbor. Not bad at all Poured a clear ambet with moderate head. There was a pleasent hops aroma and taste with the taste coming through with a good bitter bite that didn't leave you puckered.

Long my fave of all River Horse's bottlings. Pors a medium amber, slightly hazy, with a HUGE, fluffy, even billowy head and copious lacing. Those who think this is an IPA are mistaken, IMHO. It's labeled a pale ale, and I think it's a great example of same. Balanced rich malt and complex hop flavor, smooth finish, not overly hopped, but with a definite hoppy character. Great ale!

This bottle was given to me by my good friend Dansting for my birthday along with a couple other states I don't have, Thanks man!! This was poured from a bottle with no head and had more of an red ale look to it. The taste was very malty to me for an IPA. I'm wondering if this was mislabled. Tasty beer but not for an IPA....more like an ale for sure.

This pale ale pours a dark brown color form a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and grapefruit with some earthiness. Medium bodied pale ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are mostly earthy and floral, but there is a nice citrusy/grapefruity bite as well. Nice balance. Very nice beer. Would make a decent session ale. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
