About:
Still drinking after all these years, but to my sorrow, I'll never share another drop with this man, my greatest friend, the late, GREAT George Richards.

Quite a mixed reception for this entry, I see. Perhaps earlier bottlings fell short, but I find it a very enjoyable quaff. Sampling from a six-pack courtesy of my parents (God bless them) who picked some up at my request on their last visit to Williamsburg. A thinly-headed pour of a very dark, mahogany tone. Malty fragrance with notes of coffee and chocolate, chocolate repeated in the taste, along with some molasses and a hint of coffee. I like it. Not the best in the class, certainly, but worth a try.

Picked up as a single at Woodman's Market, Oak Creek. Dark brown pour with reddish tones, moderate head with ample lacing. Faint malty aroma with a hint of hops. Full mouthfeel, with fruity flavors and notes of molasses and toffee. A light hoppy finish. A nice brown ale, although to my palette almost akin to a bock. Worth a try.

From a six-pack picked up in Florida of all places. Seemingly unavailable here in Milwaukee. Drank five while in the Sunshine State, and brought one home for a later tasting. Pours a dark mahogany with little head. Fragrance not too perceptible, but an excellent, lingering mouthfeel. Sweet flavor with notes of vanilla, molasses and chocolate nibs. Very tasty, and conceals its upper range ABV rather well. I'd go for this one again, quite avidly. Back to Florida I guess!

A right nice American wheat! This one sat in the back of my fridge for 4 years & 4 months, a gift from a friend who quite correctly extolled its virtue. As it was my only one, I thought to save it, but now it's time, and I'm pleased at how well it held its shape. It kept its carbonation nicely, but the sediment ended up pretty clotted on the bottom of the boggle. However, I was able to stir up a bit up it for the final pour, and cloud it up a bit. A nice fresh aroma of banana and clove, a little thinnish on the tongue, with citrus notes, and very tasty and deserving of its high rank in its class. I'll have to get more (somehow)!

An unfamiliar style, this Double Pilsner, but refreshing and enjoyable. This poured a very pretty golden color with a fluffy off-white head that left ample lacing. A bready aroma, with a very slight hint of Noble hops. A malty, very German flavor, with both hops and ABV discrete and not "in your face". Smooth and slightly sticky mouthfeel, with a mildly bitter finish. Grabbed it from the close-out basket at Discount Liquor, and no regrets. A nice quaff.
