With a very complex blend of citric fruitness and floral overtones, this beer has a pleasing dry hop taste tht enhances its already stellar drinkability. A favorite among many whom appreciate the finer Pale Ales.

So I noticed that Sudwerk is now brewing this beer. It was nice to see it there on the shelf, as I kicked myself for not getting it when it was brewed by the previous brewery.
The beer pours out a hazy golden/orange body (looked like apple juice in my glass) with a foamy 2" thick head. Medium carbonation present. Aroma is chock full of citrus/grapefruit hops, with a bready yeast/caramel malt character which allowed the hops to really show up. Juicy was my first thoughts regarding the hops. Flavor of caramel malts really stand-up well to the citrus hop profile of the beer. Definite grapefruit, some pine too show up as it gets a bit warmer. Fantastic bitter finish, long and lingering. Quite refreshing to see a pale ale with this amount of bitterness. It could even cross over into IPA territory. -

a biscuity malty (while still being hoppy) pale ale, golden-orange in color with a very good aroma. the flavor doesn;t quite live up to the smell, but it's pretty good.

From a bottle. Poured a clear amber with a white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus/fruit undertones. Flavor is mild with an excellent hop bitterness, but it still lacked something. A good pale ale, but nothing I'd go out of my way for.

Sampled from BevMo. Enjoyed greatly its hoppy flavor. It poured very nicely into the pint glass with light tan color. Mouthfeel is excellent and after taste is negilible. Flavor is very hoppy. I went back to get the redemtion ale after trying this one.

I really liked this ale. Poured a dark yellow amber with a thin, creamy white head. Left a bit of lacing on the glass. Strong aroma of hops, pine and some tropical or citrus fruits. WOW! Very bitter flavor, like any strong IPA except for this is not. Lots of hops and pine. Finish was bitter with just a touch of alcohol bite. Many would think this was over the top, but I enjoyed it.

Ho Hum. Poured a amberish color with good head and okay lacing. Aroma was of grapefruits and other citrus fruits. Tons of hops going on. Wished there was a better malt balance going on here.

Poured an amber color with a very nice initial head and good lacing. The aroma was full of citrus and grapefruits. The flavor was citrus and grapefruits, some pine and floral notes. Man, this was really hoppy for an American Pale Ale, not much malt going on underneath, much like an IPA.

I haven't been too impressed with the various Reaper Ales prior to this offering (sampled off the tap at the San Diego Brewing Company, and misidentified as Green Flash Deathly Pale Ale, since Green Flash contract brews for Reaper). But figured I'd give something new (and fairly local) a fighting chance. I was pleasantly surprised with this, too.
Definately has the same roots as the more common (and much more boring) "Green Flash Extra Pale Ale". In my mind, that is the kindler/gentler/more-accesible-to-the-masses brother of this beer. I would say that this is a much more impressive Pale Ale of the two.
Standard APA appearence, but with a better-than-average hoppy aroma. And the taste? Unlike most other Green Flash/Reaper offerings I've had, this has a decidely significant hop- and flavor-profile. Nothing too avant garde, hop-wise (I'm thinking this may be not-much-more than your typical Grade A Standard West Coast American Pale Ale, with a typical variety of "C-hops"), but then again, there's nothing wrong with sticking to what's been tried-and-true.
A little heavier than what I would think of as an American Pale Ale, but at least it's not light-n'-frilly-and-virtually-pointless, like it's rather spineless Extra Pale Ale brother. But drinkable enough, IMO.
I wouldn't say that this APA is in the "kick ass!" category..., but I would say that's it's a refreshing change of pace....

Medium orange color. Large head. Aroma is hoppy. A medium bodied hoppy pale ale. Malts are slightly sweet and nutty. Hops are citrusy, grapefruity and fairly upfront. Slightly bitter. Well balanced. There is a nice hop bite throughout this beer. Nice Pale Ale. Very drinkable.Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Poured a hazy light copper color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, sweet caramel malts as well. Taste was bitter grapefruit, lots citrus in this one, sweet caramel, and no alcohol. Crisp and refreshing pale ale.
