A growing style in the Northwest, Dark IPAs feature all the tasty attributes of a standard IPA, yet juxtaposed against a black malt canvas. Discord is not short on character, with a prominent malt character that meets up with the bitterness and hop presence from five different hops. A variety of roasted malts provide color and flavor, yet this beer has a lighter body reminiscent of an IPA, not heavy like a porter or stout. Original Gravity: 15.7 Alcohol by Volume: 6.5 IBU: 69 Malts: 2-Row, C-80, Munich, Black Carafa II Hops: Nugget, Centennial ,Mt. Hood, Amarillo, Simcoe Availability: August - October

A dark mahogany-brown colored beer with a two finger foamy textured, light tan head. there's some hang time on the head. Settles into very light splotches of sticky film and thicker ringlet. A earthy nose. Bittered chocolate up front in the tasting, with a floral hop and tart dark fruit tasting. Light bodied.

Sampled in the mixer 12-pack. Color is rather disappointed, as it it merely a brown, slightly darker than a Newcastle. Minimal foam. Something cherry-like in the flavor, not sure where that is coming from. Mouthfeel of a Coke. Slight hop underbelly slithering along in the flavor profile...and some sweetish caramel on top of that. Not that good of a beer, but very far from undrinkable.

Not bad, not bad. Another staple that is almost always in the fam's fridge. Pours dark brownish black, small finger sized head. Roasty nose, almondy, campfire-esque. Flavor is soft bitter chocolate, firm hops, dark fruits.

Not bad, but not something I particularly Cared for either. Kinda does the bare minimum in each aspect. Brown in color, bitter without much hop aroma or flavor. Just a bit underwhelming.

Yes, it is I, Dale, your father. ..Pours a simple medium brown .. light foam .. light lacing .. . pinecone and burnt pinecone .. . nice mouthfeel, enjoyable .. . highly drinkable- a session for sure, not overdone and a straight shooter .. . . Uh, yeah, yeah, and if you're cooking burgers or stuff, don't drop your cat in there, 'cause it could, like, explode.

In a bomber, from a Texaco station. Black, non-translucent body under a foamy tan head. The well-balanced aroma had lots of hops and roasted malt, likewise the flavour. Also featured for the palate along with the hops and malt was dark chocolate. More like a porter this was, really. Mouthfeel was adequate. An okay beer, but not an outstanding one.
