Here is a Bock brewed to appease the Gods of Winter. Hearty and full-bodied this is a “Big” bier. Brewed in the Reinheitsgebot tradition, our Bock comes by its mahogany hue naturally. You can expect this bier to be complex and smooth with deep chocolate and coffee undertones, complementing the rich bouquet. No matter, if you chose to enjoy our Bock before, during, or after dinner. Remember to serve at about 48·F. Because like many good things in life … the warmer the Bock is, the sweeter it gets.

Pours a crystal clear copper color with a sub one finger head that stick to the top and isn't going anywhere. Nicely carbonated. Aroma is sweet with a nice combo of malts and caramel. Taste is smooth with a nice helping of sweet malts and fruit sweetness's. Finishes off nicely. I like it.

this one comes in bigger than most other bocks, and even a few dopplebocks, as far as the flavor, body, and alcohol presence are concerned. poured a beautiful mahgony in color - thin dissapating head. Quite smooth and sweet. The aroma was subtle and simple, but got better as the beer warmed and opened up. Rich in nose and flavor by mid glass, with a complex warming flavor and finish. Another winner.

Courtesy of pfoxyjohn. Another winner in the bunch! Dark, Dark Brown with a red tint when held to the light. Super thick body, sparse head. Tastes of roasted malts and cherries. Then comes in the bitter chocolate and coffee. Sticky finish, but not cloying. As it warms, it feels thincker and finishes drier. Finished it just in time. Thanks John!

Caramel, figs, and coffee with notes of lactose in the flavor. Pours a creamy tan head with decent lacing and a dark brown body. Overall, a decent offering from New Glarus.

Thanks to pfoxyjohn for this one. Pours a brownish-red with a medium white head. Aroma of sweet, dark malts and a bit of caramel. As for the flavor, it's not my favorite bock but it was quite nice. Wouldn't mind trying it again.

New Glarus brings it with every beer. This was no exception, although perhaps just the style itself isn't something I enjoy immensley. The beer starts out with a nice chesnut brown color sitting under a 2-finger tan head. Mostly clear with a touch of haze to it. The aroma I could get was lightly roasted malts with a bit of caramel to it. Flavor was pretty much the same...light roasted malts and caramel. Hides the alcohol really well, as it was a nice smooth beer without any unpleasant harshness. I can see the quaffability factor being really high with this beer. Another quality beer in the New Glarus gallery.

Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color bock with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of loads of caramel malt with a nice mix of toffee and molasses. Taste is also quite rich with some nice touch of caramel and a sweet finish including notes of toffee and molasses. I thought this was still easily drinkable while maintaining quite a malt bill along the way. I very much enjoyed this one and wouldn’t mind having regular access to this.

This is one of the several beers I picked up when visiting the New Glarus Brewing Company on my "Boozin Across Wisconsin Tour 2008". I purchased it in the store after I took a tour of the facilities.
This one was a pleasant surprise as I was unaware that the New Glarus Brewing Company had a bock product. The beer pours out a dark brown color with a dirty tan head that sticks around for a little bit on a somewhat vigorous pour. The Uff-da Bock has a somewhat average aroma for a bock. All I could pick up is a light maltyness aroma.
Like most of the New Glarus products, the Uff-da Bock has a very smooth drinkability to it. The flavor is that of maltiness, sweet caramel, and a light load of hops on the back end as well. The kicker is the soemwhat high alcohol content at 7.3% which you totally can't pick up in the flavor. This one could get you in a lot of trouble.
Another great brew from New Glarus that you must try if you have a chance. -

Courtesy of pfoxyjohn. Pours a deep brown with a thick tan foamy head and plenty of lacing. Some carbonation. Aroma of toasted barley malts, slight coffee and toffee and caramels. Taste is rich and balanced with an ample dose of toasted malts with a slight coffee taste and a very nice sweetness. Another excellent Wisconsin brew from New Glarus.

Pours a beautiful red-tinged mahogany color with a slight, tan head. The nose is faintly malty with hints of caramel. Taste is complex and smooth; slightly sweet with predominant flavor of well-roasted malt, and coffee and molasses in the background. A satisfying and robust beer. Very drinkable.
