It pours a hazy yellow with thick white head without much lace. An aroma of wheat malts, lemon and orange, yeast, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth although thin. Flavors of wheat malts, light hops, lemon, yeast, and light spices. Good, but not worth the cost,

Poured a hazy light golden with little head. Aroma of apple cider and grassy malt. Smooth and seductive palate. Fruit-sweet flavors of apples and pears in the center surrounded by tart lemon. Just enough spice to be intriguing. Long crisp fruity finish. MUSIC: 'Summer's End' by Track a Tiger; "this summer's end is waking and still we have to stay. we have to stay. we have to stay"
Tried this beer again during my Fränken Bierausflug, Day#4, Brewery#18, Beer#38. From a bottle at the brewery, poured a cloudy lemon-yellow with a thin billowy white head with good retention and light lacing. Strong aromas of citrus, yeast, banana and spice. Light to medium palate; thin spritziness. Mild citrus, banana and spice flavors with a thin finish of anemic bathwater. Not as good as I rated it just a month ago back home - maybe the competition's a little more unforgiving over here in Bamberg. -

This Hefeweizen pours a light gold color from a 50cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, nice retention and good lacing. Aroma is wheaty and citrusy. Medium to light bodied Hefeweizen. The malts are wheaty, citrusy. The hops are spicy and herbal. Kind of a mild fizzy hefe. Very lively carbonation. A touch of banana, but mostly citrusy. A touch watery, but drinkable. I kind of like they carbonation and the citrusy aspects. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is citrusy and slightly bitter.

Not like other Hefeweizen I've had so far, but very very good. Crystal-clear (Filtered? No, but the sediment was rather clotted on the bottom of the bottle, and only came out at the very end with a bit of encouragement) light golden pour that headed up abundantly, but faded rather quickly, and that left no lacing whatsoever. Aroma is all yeast, but not unpleasantly so. Mouthfeel is heavy and substantial and flavor is reminiscent of champagne! Went down very easily, and was quite refreshing. An interestingly flavor that I'd enjoy again.

Pours a slightly hazy pale orange with a quarter inch head that fades very quickly to a spotty cap and thin ring, leaving behind small amounts of lacing. This is much more clear that I would have expected from a hefe-weizen, and half-way through the glass the head completely disappeared, as well as any lacing. Smell; fruity esters of banana, with some sweet honey and cloves. The wheat is present, but doesn't seem to have as strong a presence as I would have liked. Taste; the bananas and cloves are present, along with a very sweet honey-like flavor. As with the smell, the wheat is there just not in the way I think it should be for a hefe-weizen. There's a kind of tanginess, that just seems out of place, and the second half of the glass a mild vinegar flavor came out that I did not enjoy. This just doesn't really stack up to most of the other weizens that I've had in the past. Mouthfeel is very thin for a hefe, and due to the thinness and that strange tanginess, and eventual vinegar flavor, the drinkability is not there.

Ah, if you want light and "refreshing" for the summer, this isn't way off. But, if you want a hefe with some flavor, this ain't it. Poured a pale yellow color with a very generous initial head. Lacing was ok, nothing great. The aroma was nil, very hard to pick up much more than you would a glass of water with a lemon (ie. light citrus). The flavor was hardly wheat-like, lots of water, some citrus, almost no banana or spicing. This was like a light hefe would be in the flavor and mouthfeel department. Disappointing overall.

Pours a cloudy straw color with a rocky white cap that reduced a tad too soon. Lovely large bubbles of natural carbonation. Aromas that seem all too standard for a German Weiss- heffe...banana prevalent..spice, yet nutmeg and some clove over a semi sweet malt tone. Starts with a great peppery tart hit to the tongue then this melts to an oily-silk mouth feel punctuated with banana, nutmeg and sweet malts and the spice delivery of the yeast...hops and wheat are there at the finish to provide a clean refreshing dry finish...but there is something lacking in this Weiss that stands it off from the best...to me (a rank amateur) it seems to be a mellow=aged presence that exists in the best Weiss biers.

Well, the Mahrs Weisse Bock isn’t bad, but this doesn't match up. Not all that good. Thin, watery, low good banana/bubblegum esters and low clove, but this weird hardcandy quality that I don’t like.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy yellow beer with a nice head with standard retention. Aroma is mostly comprised of wheat. Taste is very refreshing with the wheat taking a lot of place. There is a small but discernable taste of water at the end that I would have wish not to taste. Overall, this is a very refreshing wheat beer perfect for those hot summer days.

Sampled from a 500ml brown bottle. Poured a hazy golden / lemon yellow colour with a white head of medium size, leaving a bit of lacing. Lots of sediments were left at the bottom of the bottle. The nose was of herbal scents with hints of lemon and mint. The mouth was of nice wheat flavour mixed in with spices. The mouthfeel was formed from a very fine carbonation. A very refreshing Weisse brew for those hot summer days, but very enjoyable now that the cold season is among us.
