Oh, nostalgia! It has been far too long since I have sampled this brew. I have had this in 1/2 liter bottles, 5L mini-kegs, and on tap. Believe me, this tastes great anyway you can get it, but it is surpassingly delicious on tap. I remember sitting with some fellow soldiers in a biergarten in a little town north of Mannheim, Germany, taking my first sip of draft Eichbaum Hefeweizen, and being totally floored by the overall sensory delight of this beer. There was a slight hint of roses in the bouquet, and the color was medium pale and cloudy. The flavor was perfectly balanced between maltiness and the true-to-form tart/sour taste, and WOW!, what an incredible bananna-clovey finish. Beautiful light buff rocky head, huge and long-lasting. Great with schnitzel und spaetzel. It is a minor tragedy that this beer is not available in the US (or is it)? I have written to Eichbaum BEGGING them to export their products to the US (or at least Columbus, OH). I guarantee there are 100's of ex-GI's here that will be more than willing to generously support their efforts if Eichbaum will just take the chance!

Good smaller midsized German Brewery. This Weizen is really good and contains those flavors that make the beer seem like it is fresh and alive not overly stingy.

Nice, attractive hefeweizen look, with a hazy, golden body, and longish lasting head. Aroma is mostly banana) cloves and yeasty, not as citrusy as some. Good maltiness in the taste, mouthfeel could be slightly better, the finish could be stonger. Overall though, a good hefeweizen, I like it.
