500ml bottle into weizen glass. Sweet/sour wheat nose, banana notes are present. Cloudy golden beer with towering solid white head. Creamy mouthfeel, fruity taste. Finish is tangy banana and cloves. A hint of pepper, even a wisp of hop bitterness. Delicious!

Bottle at home, done from memory, rating is just for my own. I will edit if I drink it again, great solid German weizen, nothing more to say.

A muddied sunshine orange in color. An impressively large frothy textured, white head rises above and stays around though most of this drink. So that was the lacing as I finished this one quickly. A easy crisp, effervescent beer. Big notes of bananas in the nose and tasting. Lighter spiciness. A nice backdrop of wheat and malt.

On tap @the Bent Elbow – pours a medium gold clouded ale in the “tilted” Maisel’s glassware – frothy white cap – lasts – laces. Natural effervescence, med-light body. Aroma is full of Weisse yeast phenols and esters – cloves, ripe fruit – rigid wheat malt biscuity undertone. Flavour is a well-balanced amalgam of fruity-spicey esters, woody hopping and sturdy wheat backbone – goes almost puckering dry in the finish with a fruity-biscuit kiss at the finish – one of the best commercial Hefeweiss out there I hope the Ontario agents put this on LCBO shelves as a stock item – it rivals or beats Schneider tap 5 Weisse

Clowdy golden yellow with quickly dissapearing white foam head. Aroma is fresh citrus fruit. Taste is citrus with little barley taste. Aftertaste is dry, fresh citrus. (Velp 201211)

500 ml bottle bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Maisel Weissbier Vase a hazy copper - orange colored Hefeweizen with a two fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had a mid-sized retention. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is wheat malts, yeast, fruity, banana, lemon, spicy, vanilla, hints of caramel toffee. The flavour is grainy malts, spicy, cloves, fruity, apples, lemon and nearly no more banana. The mouthfeel is crispy, yeasty and very smooth. This medium bodied Hefeweizen has a lingering yeasty - fruity finish. A very refreshing Hefeweizen from Bayreuth.

It is merely an averge hefeweisse. The color is a little dull and too cloudy, not allowing the the true color of the beer to show. The aroma is almost ovepowering with fruit - most notbaly banana and little citrus. Too many better hefes out there to stick with this one.

Bought for xmas eve '07..Smells very old world, of banana, cloves, dust, and an old maid ... very dark in colour, of orange amber bread crust ... glides down the throat, but has a very strange aftertaste that weirds it all up.... lacing is like james stewart in a wonderful life... a pin point above average Hefe but the queer aftertaste kills the overall enjoyment of this beer, but it has its place...probably..

Pours with a nice pale amber color. This beer has a good yeasty friuty aroma. I get a good flavor of fruit, especially bananas. I love wheat beers and this one is going to be a top of the list beer for me.

Bought this 6-pack while vacationing in Kiawah Island, SC. Very unique Hefe. More orange/amber that most German weisse beers, nearing Dunkel color, and has more complex fuit flavors. Hard to pin down but I taste less clove, and more banana, vanilla, and pear. Definitely stands out from the typical style. Will place this into my regular rotation, although it is hard to find.
