Poured a thin layer of head and quickly recedes. A nice dark hazy amber colour. Aromas of oranges, bananas and spices. Wheaty flavour, a hint of banana, yeast, and some citrus type bitterness. Goes down fairly smooth. Gives a tingly mouthfeel. Would love to try this one on tap!

An execllent buckwheat offering, strong aroma and flavour. Pours a nice colour with little retention. Slightly unique take on this creative brew. I enjoyed the presentation very much as well. Very agreeable and something different, very pleased to come across.

Poured a hazy orange amber color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, lots of spices (think juicy fruit gum), and light banana. Tasteof banana, more bubblegum, tons of spices, yeast and some tart wheatiness in the background. Really nice and spicy, thanks Steve!

An interesting beer from Quebec -- color me impressed with this one....
My first exposure to the Brasseur RJ -- this sample coming to me in a 22-oz (er, sorry "660mL") bottle. Features a rather scary looking scene, of a man in obvious pain, holding his head, as some sort of amorphic, brain-like clump mysteriously floats in the air nearby -- gloating over the puny human and his weak will, perhaps? Could the evil that is depicted in this scene mirror what is contained within? Hardly.
Immediately comes across as something a bit different than the norm, that's for sure. Coriander? Not neccesarily fruity in the nose nor the front-end flavor, but definitely has that certian twang of something interesting going on. Not so sure if it's the spice added to this beer, or the not-often-used buckwheat in the malt-bill, but this is nicely flavorful, and quite pleasant to drink.
Finishes a little dry and sour, but otherwise, I can honestly say that I have no complaints with this beer. A very interesting and worthwhile beer to sip on at the end of a long three-day weekend.

750ml crown caped "bomber". A hard pour puts a cloudly orange-gold ale with a small but puffy cap in your wit glass. Natural abundant small-bubbled effervesense is lively in the glass. Aroma is a whallop of spicey corriander of dry buckwheat malts and a slight mustyness...attention grabbing aroma! Front side has an hearty body and silken mouth feel ...dominated by spice tones coming from the buckwheat husk, yeast and corriander....middle is malty-dry with some earthyness... finish is long with the spice nature returning and pummeling the tongue until the rye-like after tastes kick in...what a ride..great variation on a traditional style...me like varra mucha!

Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with generous head that goes away too quickly. Aroma is quite complex with definitely some buckwheat and a few spices (probably some coriander mix with something else) completed with Cheval Blanc usual yeast. Taste is quite complex with the roasted buckwheat hitting you right at the beginning and then coriander mixing quite nicely with the yeast. I waited a while until I could pick-up a fresh sample before rating this since I’ve noticed that it doesn’t aged very well.

This beer is said to be a spicy buckwheat one. It also has coriander in it. It poured a hazy amber-orange colour with a lot of carbonation. The thicker head dissapeared fairly quickly to form a thin one, for the remaining of the drinking experience. I could see lots of sediments floating around, and bigger ones hitting the bottom. Yeasty nose and hints of many spices. Taste also proves good with the spices, starting of with a sour taste and finishing with a dry smoothness. This is one of the better beers we can find here (province of Quebec) in the convenient stores. I like it !!!
