Brewed for Einstök Ölgerd ( Brewery ) under seperate licence. American and Bavarian craft come together with the finest Icelandic water to create the Viking version of the Pale Ale, where robust hoppiness meets smooth malty undertones. Cascade hops give it the American character, while Northern Brewer hops add just enough bitterness to make this Ale refreshingly Icelandic. Ingredients : Pale ale malt, chocolate malt, American and Bavarian hops. Baldur's notes : Mild, slight toffee, generous hop aroma and flavour from late hop addition.

The beer pours a light rusty red, slightly hazy, with plenty of effervescence leading to a frothy white cap. The aroma is bready malt, light citrus, floral hops, and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. The flavor is malt forward, not a lot of flavor coming from the hops

An orange amber colored beer with a big frothy textured, light beige head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. Settles into a thick ringlet and cap. Grassy hopped presence in the nose and tasting as is bready malt. Medium, effervescent. refreshing.

Quite the surprise with this Icelandic brewery. Their take on an America pale ale is quite tasty. They definitely get the hop-forward aspect of this style, although the dark/chocolate malt seems a little out of place. A fruity aroma, showing notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, fresh bread and light caramel. Flavor brings a sweet bready flavor supported by some lemon/citrus hops, a bit of wet leaves, and leaves a yeasty/bready finish. A bit over-priced, but it's to be expected since the beer's journey started in a pretty remote location. -

330 ml capped bottle. Poured a slight hazy dark amber-chesnut coloured APA with a generous two fingers beige and dense foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is moderate malty, a soft but clear pronounced aromatic hoppy bitterness, floral notes, a barnyard touch. The flavour is sweety toasted malts, caramel, bready, fruity with citrussy tones and a moderate aromatic hoppy bitterness. The mouthfeel is light fizzy, a bit, oily fine and very smooth. This light to medium bodied APA has a lingering soft aromatic hoppy finish. This soft APA, from Iceland, is a nice surprise. The purity of the main ingredient, the water, is quite amazing. It's the try worth !
