First sample from Butte Creek. A good clean, lighter porter. A little on the thin side and lacking some flavor. Similar to some of the porters that come from the UK. Pours a darker brown appearance. Flavors of barley and chocolate malt. Nice to try and organic and all, but I prefer a thicker/maltier porter with a bit more hop to it.

The beer pours out a deep black body with a ruby red edge. Huge eruptive head upon initial pouring, it left behind a bunch of uneven, clumpy/soapy foam. Aroma was rubbing alcohol, light nutty malts, and cooked veggies. Soft coffee aroma started eeking out after about 10 minutes. Flavor is metallic, slight roast. Mouthfeel is over-carbonated, with a "licking a 9 volt" kinda effect...very stinging. Might be one of the worst porters I’ve had.

Courtesy of stoutlover from a small trade. Pours black-brown with a massive head and some initial lacing. Big carbonation. Aromas of roasted malts, cocoa, some molasses and a weird tartness. Taste is much like the aroma - roasted malts, cocoa, molasses and a strange acidity.

Aroma is strong and smoky with a firm undertone of molasses, more than a touch of sweetness, and a strong hint of fine coffee - very tempting to a stoutie like me. It pours a dark transparent cola brown with a fairly thick pale tan head. Flavor is not quite as good as the aroma, but it is still pleasing - smoky and oily with tones of coffee and molasses. Only problem is there is a soapy or chalky hint - maybe this was not one of their better batches. Texture is smooth and a little edgy with a fair amount of fizz.

was looking forward to this one during a big porter phase, but it's pretty weak. i know porters aren't stouts, but i'll get a newcastle if i want something THAT mild. 2012 - a little more robust and chocolatier. Still pretty average

A reddish brown body with one of the most impressive heads on pour I’ve seen. Must be the ORGANIC ingredients. A little too much carbonation dilutes the aroma and flavor of this one. The nose and taste includes roasted malt and mocha. Despite all this it is bitter and rancid. I won’t do that one again.

Extremely dark brown with zero crown this looks crappy. Smoky chocolaty aroma with slight hints of coffee, strange I think I smell apple. Taste is nice and rich, coffee but not to strong, chocolate, and yes its apple I’m tasting. After taste is relatively clean with just a touch of coffee bitterness remaining, mouth fell is maybe a touch thin. This is drinkable but to sweet for me, why drink this when I can have Samuel Smith Taddy.

Poured out zero head but it does have a nice rich, deep brown colour. The aroma is a bit on the mild side which is nice and consists of mild chocolate, some coffee (does not overtake the aroma), roasted malts and a slight fruit. The taste is pretty good with a good mix of heavy roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and bitterness. The mouth feel is nice and smooth, very appealing, fine carbonation and a perfectly mild bitterness. For whatever reason, I have no urge to ever drink one again as it was very forgettable.

Bottle courtesy of CBA: Poured a light clear black color porter with a small foamy head with a small foamy head with some good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with some subtle bitter notes. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with some lactose-like sweetness with a weak bitter ending. Body is too thin for the style with some average carbonation.

Tastey beer, pours a dark black colour with a fairly large tan head. A very clean creamy mouthfeel, full of coffee and earth. Aroma is slightly nutty, roasted malts and butterscotch. Taste is full and very filling.
