this style has deep, rich, chocolatey flavors, but they're balanced by a pleasantly spicy hop character

This beer is a brown color that, when held up to the light, is visually clear with a deep ruby hue. A tan head tops this beer. There is a hint of candy sweetness in the aroma, it is accompanied by a bit of hop aroma, though the predominant aroma in the nose is one of malt. Up front the taste of this beer is lightly sweet. It is a fairly light bodied brew, especially for a winter warmer. Malty biscuit type flavors dominate and are accompanied by a light bitterness in the finish. It leaves an aftertaste of spices in my mouth. There is not too much here, the honey probably contributes to the clean light body. A solid product, there is just not enough to get excited about here.

I guess it's a credit to this beer that it's still fairly interesting after a year since it's bottling. But then again, this is a Winter Beer, and most surely last at least a year or so.
But besides this beer's wearwithal, there's not a lot to say about this beer, to be honest. Looks decent enough, smells decent too -- basic PacNW hop aroma -- and enough of a "wintery" malt bill to make things interesting.
But to be honest, I had a hard time really caring one way or the other about this one. All the pieces of the puzzle were in available, but not really pieced together enough to make a staisfying beer, IMO.
Not bad, but a little too disconcerted for anything but an once- or twice-a-year visitor to the ol' fridge...

Dark brown color. Medium to small head. Aroma is chocolate and malts. A medium to full bodied ìamberî. Malts are nutty and sweet, with touches of chocolate and caramel. Hops are slightly spicy. Touches of pine and smoke. Kind of a milder winter warmer, but pleasant nonetheless. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Large slightly off-white head. Has some sweetness to it that makes it different. A decent amount of hops and nice malty flavor. Robust mouthfeel with some raisin taste.

Grant's Deep Powder is a very dark looking brew with little head when poured. There wasn't much of an aroma. The taste was average...no lingering bitterness, but nothing of special note either.

Ok its certainlly a nice ,looking ale..dark ruby in colour with a small creme coloured head..that doesnt last long..but nice lacing. Very heavily malted aroma..but very fresh in this sample..nice A very good malt flavour and some honey at the end..as it slips down my throat I get a ghost of some hops and a minor alcoholic warming. Very smooth on the palate A drinkable malty beer..if you are a hop-head..this may dissapoint.

Dark brown color with nice sized light tan head. Light, citrus aroma. First taste is of light chocolate and mellow hop bitterness. I get a Bit 'O Honey as the label promises with a light, lemony watery finish.

very dark, maybe even black. small eggshell white head. aroma of plums and glue. Chalky dark fruit body to it, sour milk feel to it, nothing special at all.
