We brewed a few small batches of Alexander Keith’s Harvest Ale, using the choicest ingredients – a combination of North American roasted malt, chocolate malt and Canadian barley malt – as well as two different types of hops: choice bittering hops, which create the robust bittering flavour you have come to expect from Alexander Keith’s and Willamette hops, which generate a rich aroma. The result is a full bodied, robust, aromatic beer with the ultimate balance between sweetness and bitterness - flavours that tantalize the senses. Alexander Keith’s Harvest Ale has a nutty taste with hints of caramel and chocolate. It is rich in colour and in flavour, which makes Alexander Keith’s Harvest Ale the perfect complement to the fall season.

A hard to find beer. Colour - clear light brown, tan head. Aroma - caramel, grass. Mouthfeel - thin. Flavour - old stale grains. Overall - below average.

Second Keith's of the night (the other being the Blonde) which just arrived at Métro Limbour, in a 12-pack. Pours a brown colour, with a hue of deep red. Big beige head with average stay and a bit of lace. The rest is way too mild. Weak roasted malt nose with some light hops and their regular bad smelling malts (which is not even corn - kind of adjunct). A little sweet taste with notes of maple and a boring light aftertaste. There is almost some sourness to it. Way too clean and nothing I would try again.

I have to admit, I actually sought out this beer on the advice of a friend who said it was quite good (he's a craft beer enthusiast). I'm convinced that whatever he was served wasn't this because this was crap. A light brown pour with a weak tan head. Malty aroma with weak toffee tones. Flavour was quite thin, a little on the sweet side, not much else to say.

Mopst harvest ales are Oktoberfests............but not a Keith's. This was tried at a small hole in the wall bar in Moncton which had ran out of everything else....bad luck on my part. The beer is a clear reddish-brown...definitly not amber. Aroma is non-descript with a mish-mash of something.....but nothing. Flavour was on the sweet and grainy side. I heard it was a limited run, but should be terminated soon and limited to macro driunkers only.

On tap at a certain pub that has all the Keith ’colors’ and Richards ’colors’, which will remain nameless as I will not recommend such a bland watering hole.--It is in Tri cities. Poured a limpid brown with a 1 finger cap that does not last.. Aroma is light but contains DME-like malt aromas (flat not bright) supplimented with some brewer’s caramel...hops are present for once.. Weak mouth feel, thin character, caramelly but flat ...this is an attempt at a brown ale in the Northern style...much like Newcastle with a bit more black patent malt and a dry finish. Not craft ale by any stretch, but more flavor than their normal offerings.
