The beer poured an a translucent gold colour with a thin white head, and significant effervescence. The smell was quite awful actually, grainy vomit describes it best. The mouthfeel was highly carbonated and watery. The flavour was metallic in nature. A bit of malt, a bit of sweetness, but no hoppy bitterness. -

The beer poured a translucent (when held to the light) reddish brown colour with a large, long lasting, rocky head. The aroma was malty and yeasty with some hints of dark fruit. The mouthfeel was full-bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, with some yeast, and a small amount of bitterness. A great beer. -

I tried this beer on February 14, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The beer poured a beautiful translucent dark red colour with a very thin white head. The aroma was very weak with a slight malt smell. The mouthfeel was light, dry, with low carbonation. The flavour was slightly malty, and slightly sour. Not an enjoyable beer, and very similar to Alexander Keith's Red. -

The beer poured a translucent gold colour with a thin white head. The aroma was very grainy. The mouthfeel was watery with little carbonation. The flavour was as grainy as the aroma. Not a pleasing beer to my palate. -

This poured a translucent gold colour with a slight reddish tinge. The head was thin, and white, and there was quite a bit of effervescence. The aroma was rather weak, nothing at all that comes to mind aside from some grassy hints. The mouthfeel was light. almost watery, and little carbonation. The taste was very grassy was well, with some malty hints. -

The beer poured a translucent reddish brown into the glass with a thick, creamy, off-white head that lingered. The aroma is primarily malt with a little skunkiness. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, creamy, with some carbonation. The flavour is also malty, very English. -

The beer poured a reddish-brown colour with a thin whitish head. The aroma was stale malt with a little bit of hops. The mouthfeel was medium-thin with high carbonation. The taste was grainy with no detectable hops or malt. -

I tried this beer on January 31, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The bottle was a 2006 vintage, and 13.3% ABV. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with am offwhite bubble head. The aroma was very yeasty, with some malt and candy tones. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, creamy with mild carbonation. The flavour was overpowering from an alcohol perspective with some detectable dark fruity tones and a stomach warming presence. Like the Samichlaus, not a beer I'd try again! -
