I tried this beer on tap on May 7, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was poured a beautiful translucent gold with a frothy white head about 1" thick. The aroma was sweet malt, hops, and some citrus. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, grapefruity hops, and a spicy bitterness. A very good beer.

I may have had an older one, but the hops seemed rather unfocused and most likely faded. Hints at lemon peel and bitterness, but a little bit of a mess. Muddled. Not a bad beer as I enjoyed the fruity yeasty Belgian qualities and the dry finish, but I wouldn;t buy this again at a premium price.

Single at the LCBO. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a frothy white head, great retention and foamy lace. Aromas of Belgian Ale yeast, lemon, mild bananas and slight grassy hops. Nicely balanced between and oily mouthfeel and some hop dryness. Well-blended grassy hops, Belgian yeast with cereal hay malts and some other sweet malt notes. A decent hoppy Belgian Ale.

Bottle - finally got around to reviewing this one after having sampled it numerous times but never in a session. This brew rocks. Light hazed gold. Big puffy white cap lasts.. Nobel hop aroma with plenty of bready malts and a hint of yeasty Belgian funk. It's only ale characteristic is a little sharpness in the front, other than that it’s really rounded and full bodied with a balanced profile. Flavor is that of a big hoppy lager with a rich finish and a nice hop bite. Totally hides its strength.. Sessioning this is dangerous.

Light yellow body, small cap. Very yeasty aroma, hay, banana, lemon, and a mild funk. Taste seems harsh and grassy, lemon, vanilla. To much perfume. Meh at best with my mode today.

Jeez! This was 9.5%! No one told me, and I couldnt taste it! Hazy yellow colour, white head, lots of lacing, sweet malts, citrus and yeast. Slightly bitter, but mostly malt and yeast I find. Flowery hops. Like a mimosa with a beer body and more bitterness. Good though. Underripe peach at the best of times. Aight....

330 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Urthel imposant stemmed tulip glass a slight hazy copper-brown coloured Ale with a two fingers light beige foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is sweet malts, honey notes, strong floral hops and spicy, cinnamom, nutmeg. The flavour is caramel malts, bread, brown sugar, a strong herbal hoppy bitterness, dried fruits, walnuts and fruity, citrus. The mouthfeel is crispy, sparkling and fulled. This full bodied Ale has a lingering hoppy bitter finish and could be or should be a nice companion.

Poured a dark golden color. Aroma is soapy with some citrus and funk. Flavor is bitter and grassy. This is just harsh and not enjoyable. Im a hophead so it's not that. I can’t wait for this beer to be over with. NEXT!!!
