Smokeless Joe's (Old Location - Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

The beer was a beautiful dark brown with some plum coloured hints and a thin, rocky, tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, with some yeasty tones, as well as chocolate and cherry hints. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, mildly carbonated, and slightly creamy. The flavour was caramel malt, some other fruit flavours like cherries and plum, and a little hoppish bitterness to round it out. I loved this beer.

I tried this beer on May 9, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The beer poured a translucent orangy-brown with a thin white head. The aroma was some sweet malt, some citrus, although not really all that orangy, and some hops, although I was expecting a more hoppy assault from a beer with 5 kinds of hops in it. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with medium carbonation, and leaves a dry feeling. The flavour had a little malt in it, and some bitter hop tones as well to round it off. A very enjoyable beer.

I tried this beer on May 8, 2008 after purchasing a couple of bottles from the Queens Quay LCBO outlet (one was given to lenusik). The beer poured a very pale golden yellow with a bubbly white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was very sick grainy malt with a slight hoppy hint. The mouthfeel was medium bodied. The flavour was very grassy.

The beer pours a translucent golden colour into the glass with a thin, creamy white head. There is a great deal of effervescence. The aroma is grainy malt with hints of apple. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour is primarily grainy malt with a little hoppy bitterness.

The beer poured a translucent gold colour with a generous white head which settled down immediately. Tons of effervescence. The smell was very very sour. Almost a turn off. The mouthfeel was light to medium bodied, lots of carbonation. The flavour was a ton of grain with a little bit of hops. Not a beer I would try again.

I tried this beer on April 25, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a slightly translucent dark ruby red with a very thin white head. The aroma was all raspberries with some faint hints of malt. The mouthfeel was weak and slightly watery with very little carbonation. The flavour was very much like a weak raspberry tea with a slight sourness. Nowhere near the same calibre of beer as the raspberry wheat.
