The beer poured a translucent orangy-red colour with very little head, and a lot of effervescence. The aroma was primarily sweet malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, somewhat dry, and with a lot of carbonation. The flavour was mainly malt with very little else. I didn't get any rye or hoppy feel from this brew.

The beer poured a beautiful translucent dark red colour with a very thin white head that dissipates quite quickly. The aroma was roasted malt, and some nutty hints. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, with high carbonation. The flavour was all over the place, there was roasted malt, some soapy sourness, and a little hint of bitterness.

The beer poured a translucent orangy-gold colour with a generous white fluffy head that disappeared quite quickly. The aroma was very grassy with very little other discernable aromas. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, ample carbonation, with a little bitterness. The flavour was again a lot of grass with a little bit of hoppy bitterness. When it comes to Holsten brews, this is not as good as the Festbock, but better than the Premium.

I tried this beer on March 17, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario. The beer is a new beer from Church Key and is only available in 650ml bottles (according to Joe). The beer poured a nice dark translucent orangy-brown whitch a thick, creamy, off-white head. The aroma was very hoppy, with some hints of malt and licorice. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with high carbonation, and the bitterness was quite evident. The flavour was quite hoppy with definite grapefruit hints.

The beer was a dark murky brown with a thick, creamy tan coloured head that lasted a long time. The aroma was almost non-existent. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, but very little carbonation. The flavour was very reminiscent of diluted tea.

The beer was a nice translucent orange/gold colour with a thick, creamy white head that lasted throughout the experience. The aroma was primarily malt with a slight hoppish hint. The mouthfeel was thick, and creamy, with very light carbonation. When taking into account the lack of carbonation, the flavour was nothing more than malted water. One could easily drink 5-6 of these as they go down easy................on this day, one was enough for me.

The beer poured a medium gold colour with a huge white head. The aroma was slightly grainy with no other discerning flavours. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with little carbonation. The flavour was very grainy with no hoppish presence.

The poured a translucent gold colour with a generous head that quickly disippates. The aroma was very malty with some slight hoppish hints. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was very grainy, with very little bitterness.

The beer poured a very dark translucent (when held against the light) reddish brown. The head was tan-coloured. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and medium carbonation. The aroma and the flavour were both grainy malt in all it's glory. Almost a chewy maltiness.

The beer poured an orangy-gold colour into the glass with a 1/2 inch white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was sweet malt, some caramel, and some grass. The mouthfeel was thin-bodied and medium carbonated. The flavour was sweet malt, with some milky hints. Not all that enjoyable a dopplebock.
