Abbey triples are usually blond or light amber in color. That is a centuries-old tradition. The Bornem Tripel is a party beer, hoppy and full of flavor, soft in the mouth, with an outstanding sweet-bitter balance, a pleasant aroma and a good head. And finally, it leaves a long aftertaste to enjoy to the fullest.

The beer poured a hazy golden colour with a 1/2" thick white head that lasted. The aroma was grainy malt, peppery spice, and citrusy notes. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was grassy malt, some bitter spicy tones and pepper.

Pours clear yellow, somewhat lager-like, with a thick and frothy porcelain head. Aroma features fruity, fresh malt, and subtle butterscotch notes. Much bolder flavor kicks it all up a couple notches for some serious drinking and savoring, not just casual swigging. Mouthfeel presents firm body, peppy fizz, and a fruity and subtly hoppy finish. Bornem is never a bore!

Pours out a clear gold with a long lasting white head. Until you shake up and pour out the bottom then it's looks like lava in cold water. There is NO aroma. The mouthfeel is medium thick . The taste is malty with some spice. I could a six pack of this with no problem.

Wow, 94/90 on here, 73/49 on RB. I trend lower. A not totally off putting, but ill fitting sour aroma and flavor. Not the crisp spicy Belgian triple I'm used to. A little fruity, sweet, dry and gassy. Just not very interesting. Don't know the age, but this is just not very tripelish.

Pours a light golden yellow with a white fluffy head. Lacing forever. Aroma is mild and spicy. Mouthfeel is is dry and tart. Flavor has floral and citrus tones along with a little grass. Easy drinker, good tripel to cut your teeth on.

I had the double earlier today, and i thought that one was o.k. so i thought this would be good as well, but.... Aroma of rubbing alcohol, and some spices. The body was a clear golden yellow, a thick fizzy white cap with o.k. lace, not much carbonation. Flavor was astringent alcohol, with some honey and hay, odd finish. Overall i didnt like it, not a good triple.

Interesting. Kinda like looking at Ginger Ale. So similar in color, on pour. A big frothy white head. Great hang time, settling into soapy lumps hanging on the glass and floating atop the ale. Lots of fruit, like pears and bananas balanced with yeast in the nose. Lots of carbonation in a thin body. The taste is dominated by the bite of alcohol. Sweet, fruity. Really good.

This is a nice spicy tripel, and certainly worth trying again. It pours a golden colour with particulate matter and a white head. The aroma is primarily malty with some lemony tones. The flavour is scrumptous. There is a nutty malt base that has some spices like coriander and pepper. I'll have another please!

Aroma of mixed fermented fruits such as pears, bananas, and oranges. Rather earthy with a musty quality. Cloudy, golden-orange color, huge rocky head, and heavy lacing. Airy, sweet mouthfeel lending to a light creaminess. This is one of the easiest drinking Tripels I can recall. Sweet and yeasty flavors along with a nice vibrant fruitiness. Does come across as a tad watered down. Grassy with a fading/faint bitterness.
