The first sign something was wrong was the fact that I could buy a 4 pack for $5.00. The beer poured a translucent reddish brown with almost no head. The aroma was sweet malt, caramel and faint hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and weakly carbonated. The flavour was sticky sweet malt, with a mild bitter finish. -

The beer poured a clear gold colour with a very thin bubbly/rocky head, and mild effervescence. The aroma is grainy malt with some metallic notes. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt, sand, and wet metal. A below average beer. -

This is a beer for a good cause...reforestation. And for a charity beer, it's not bad. Had it at a friend's house after he brought back a case from out west. It's a golden red, clear, with a creamy head. The aroma is dark malt, some hops, and some caramel. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, and medium carbonation. The flavour is reminiscent of an English Pale Ale more than a porter with a less roasted malt profile than I would have expected. -

I tried this beer on November 27, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured an opaque brownish-black with a thin light-brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, vanilla, butterscotch, and alcohol (definitely noticeable). The mouthfeel was full bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, butterscotch, a bitter finish...and alcohol.
Without the alcohol aroma or taste, this beer would have scored higher. It's not a lot, but it was definitely noticeable in my sample. -

The beer poured a very dark brown with a 1" light brown head that lasted. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and nuts. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, creamy, and medium carbonated. The flavour was exquisite...and nice combination of roasted malt tones, coffee, caramel, and a bitter finish.
