The beer poured a beautiful translucent red, with a 1/2" tan coloured head that lasted. The aroma was slightly hoppy, some grainy malt, and some weak fruit tones. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and medium carbonated. The flavour was primarily malt with a nice bitter finish. Very refreshing.

    Smokeless Joe (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
    November 5, 2009
    $10.95
It poured a golden orange colour into the glass with a fluffy white head that dissipated very quickly leaving almost no foam on the top. Lots of effervescence. The aroma was a combination of malts and yeast. The mouthfeel is crisp with a lot of carbonation - dances on the tongue. The taste is slightly bitter with some malty tones. Not a great beer by any stretch.

The beer poured a translucent red with a tan foamy head. The aroma was sweet malt, some fruit tones, and grain. The mouthfeel was creamy, medium-bodied with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet, and definitely malty. A very enjoyable Oktoberfest and another fine product from the Black Oak Brewery.

The beer pours a dark reddish brown with a 1/2" tan head into a Rodenbach Grand Cru chalice. The aroma was wood, cherries, with some other tartness. The mouhfeel was ligh-medium bodied with heavy carbonation. The flavour was quite complex with some tart cherry up front, and sweet malt tones in the finish. An excellent beer.

The beer poured translucent red with a very thin tan coloured head. The aroma is rum, oak, and roasted malt tones. The mouthfeel is dry, medium bodied, and medium carbonation. The flavour is rum, oak, some spice, and malt tones with a definite wooden aftertaste. A good beer.

The beer poured a translucent red into the glass with a huge rocky off-white head that lasted a while. The aroma was weakly hoppy with a definite malt presence. The mouthfeel was weak-bodied, almost watery with a low level of carbonation. The flavour was mildly malty with a good hoppy finish. A hoppier flavour profile would have been nice.
