A new version of an American classic. Our Yazoo Pale Ale bursts with spicy, citrusy hop aroma and flavor, coming from the newly discovered Amarillo hop. The wonderful hop aroma is balanced nicely with a toasty malt body, ending with a cleansing hop finish. Made with English Pale, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts, and generously hopped with Amarillo, Perle, and Cascade hops. Fermented with our English ale yeast. Food Pairings The bracing bitterness of this beer can hold its own with spicy foods, while helping to cleanse the palate after rich, creamy dishes. The citrus hop flavors go exceptionally well with any dishes using cilantro, such as Mexican salsas.

A hugely imbalanced pale ale. The pour is a golden-amber colour, with a slight haze, and an off-white cap. Aroma is grass, toffee, apples, and citrus. Flavour is all malt as very little of the citrus tones are discernable.

Crisp aroma is malty, fruity, and just a sliver sweet, not strong or distinctive but still appealing. It pours a clear amber with a fluffy white head that doesn’t leave much lacing. Malty flavor has a fruity underpinning that is mostly apple with some traces of pear. Texture is smooth and minimally fizzy. Not great, but fine for some casual sipping or with a meal.

Pours a used cooking oil gold, very light foam .. . smell is awesome, light citrus, sweet maple, and resin .. . taste is quite balanced, its more malty than most APAs .. . a great beer to start the evening, thanks Lou .. . nice finish and I go through the kitchen, with a bowl full of chicken, and I put it in Leo, I mean Dr. Marvin's, refrigerator.

A decent pale ale, but not great. It's a golden-red in color with a thin white cap. The aroma is certainly typical of an APA, albeit slightly spicy. The taste was rather bland, not enough oomph in it for me.

wow...you can really taste and smell the amarillos and the crystal malt in particular, and they play together nicely. the aroma is both bready malt and spicy hops, as is the flavor. slightly creamy body. nice finish. thanks for another new one Louis.

Another nice offering from Yazoo and Blues. Pours a semi hazy copper colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma is fruity- with fresh hops (west coast?) and subtle pine. Taste is very pleasent, soft and creamy- not too hoppy (which i was hoping for) but full and citrusy with a very smooth caramel finish. Very nice!

Pours a deep yellow with a slight amber cast sporting a decent white head that leaves some nice lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of medium grapefruit and pine hops with a nice bready sweet maltiness. Taste is smooth and fairly balanced with a good bit of hops upfront balanced with the malts. Very easy to drink - glad Yazoo is finally in East Tennessee!

This is among the very finest pale ales around. My only regret is not having one sooner. The citrus and hops are absolutely amazing - not too much, but just right.

Another review from the Flying Saucer in Nashville. Golden ytellow color, big foamy head with good retention and thin lace. Smells of citrus and floral hops, nothing over the top, just a solid Pale ale aroma. Nice herbal hop flavor, balanced with some biscuit and bready malt. Good all around flavor. Slightly thin but not flat, enough body to feel the carbonation almost watery body. Went great with my meal, a very good locally made APA.

This beer pours a copper color with a light white head. Some good lacing on this if I might add. The aroma is more in the EPA than APA mold. I get a lot of caramel with some citrus and dark fruit. The flavor is rather malty and similar to an ESB with some caramel, lemons, and hints of grapefruit. This is not amazing but works as a session beer for sure.
