You will recognize Wittekerke Wit Beer by the elegant glass, the sunny colour and the dense, creamy head. The flavour is rounded and has a spicy subdued bitterness. The celebrated beer connoisseur Michel Jackson becomes lyrical while describing Wittekerke as "creamy, aromatic, with a clean, teasing, perfumy fruitiness and faintly herbal tartness".

Not extreme in any way, but very very good in a modest cilantro/citrus herb witbier way. About my favorite any day drink. It pours very consistently, lighter in carbonization than most, and increases in bouquet and flavor with temps approaching 10 C.

Why the small bottle? Can Belgians not handle a full bottle of 5% beer? The beer is a clouded yellow in color, topped by a white had that lasts about 5-10 minutes. Aroma is wheat, spices, yeast, bubble gum, and citrus. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is just like the aroma, sweet wheat malt dominating a spicy citrus finish.

Shoulda had this in the summer :) light yellow pur, white cap that quickly disappears. aroma of cut grass and citrus, with a hint of spice. flavor is good. similar to the aroma but far too light. Body tingly and light as well. i know this is a light style, but this is a touch too light/thin. refreshing, though.

Another surprise find in North Dakota. Looks much like any other light lager/wheat ale with a slight haze. Aroma of lemon, grass and a hint of soap(?). Easy drinking, with a refreshing taste of wheat and lemon. Not bad.

A clouddy, muddy yellow colored beer with a big frothy textured white head rising above. Particulates are evident in the body. The head has some hang time settling into a thin soapy ringlet. The nose is wheat, fruity sweet lemons and spice. The tasting is pretty much the same with the lemon dominating as it would in lemonade. A light and crisp body feel in a light-medium body. Overall, enjoyable.

Pineapple juice color. Cloudy, with a very white head that looks very soapy. Not much lacing being left on the glass. Head didn't stick around very long. Nose was a fruity citrus. Orange and lemon. A little bit of the wheat underlying the citrus. Getting a bit of a spice in the nose also. A decently balanced smelling beer. Taste was a touch of the sweetness at first followed by a slightly stronger bitterness that seems to be more prominant than most "wheat" brews. Picking up on some of the pepper also. Mouthfeel was crisp, refreshing, smooth and only a tad bit watery. Rather thin, but that's not always a bad thing. Summer brew of course. Would go down all too easy on a hot day.

I figured this would be better than it was being from Belgium and all, but was pretty much a standard wheat. Had some fruity notes, with a little spice, but not as much as a Blue Moon or Shocktop. I actually think Blue Moon may be better than this. I would compare this more to a smoother Shocktop. Has a cloudy pale yellow appearance. Worth to try for the price, but that's about it. Maybe better from a bottle or on draft.

Shrink-wrapped sixer. Very easy to find at most BevMo’s in California, I picked this up at the last second before heading out of a friends house. Aroma is clearly dominated by the citrusy orange/lemon angle. Body is a pale yellow golden color with a huge 2" off white merengue head. Very impressive looking in my Duvel glass. Very citrusy on the palate, with just a smidge of the classic corriander and lacking any pepperyness. Clean wheat malts seem to avoid any conflict with the citrus in this beer. Clean, crisp finish....easy drinking.

Strong nose on this beer, lemon and something I can't quite identify sort of a spicy lavender, almost pez-like but in an OK sort of way. Nice long lasting head with zero lace and very white sits over a foggy foggy pale yellow body. Mouth is a bit to watery, not much there, the carbonation is nice but lacking in slipperyness which I expect in the style. Flavor is mild, too mild. I get some lemon, some applea little pepper and a slightly disagreeable chemical hit. The beer finishes very dry which is kind of interesting. Aftertaste of apple without the sweetness. Not the best.

It pours a clear, rather typical wan sunny yellow, but the thick, fluffy, white head adds appeal. Aroma is strong, malty, wheaty and yeasty with just a touch of fruit - mainly banana - and inviting a taste. Flavor is mainly malty with yeasty undertone and a fruity hint. Texture is tingly and lively, what I like in a beer. This one is worth finding. I had it at the Cafe Intermezzo in Dunwoody, GA.
